We are so happy our daughter is in this school. Unlike the busy public school our older son attended, we found this school calm, organized and not too overstimulating or loud. The teachers are caring, available for consult, and actively engaged with the students. Our family was hoping to find a space that helped our younger daughter adjust to public school after a smaller 3K experience and this school really delivered. This is a safe and calm space for our shy youngest, alongside a nice community of neighborhood families.

The school is like a family and all the grades know each other as well as the teachers. The PTA have great activities for the children to engage in as well as the parents. Academically there is definitely room for improvement for some teachers while others are excelling and giving the children the education they deserve.

I was very cautious about my son starting 3K, especially because he is speech delayed. I originally came across PS 309 because my daughter attends the charter school in the same building, and although I had some concerns due to the stigma around public schools, I am so glad I made the decision to enroll him here.My son is in a class with two teachers and two paraprofessionals, and he receives speech therapy three times a week. In just three months—from September to now—I’ve already seen real improvement in his speech and confidence. The support he receives is consistent, patient, and genuinely tailored to his needs.One of the things I appreciate most is how welcoming the staff is. So many of them make you feel like family the moment you walk through the door. It’s clear they truly care about your child, even when you’re not there, and that level of care and attention means everything to a parent.I’m incredibly thankful for PS 309 and the progress my son is making. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a supportive, caring, and dedicated environment for their child.

The Brooklyn Brownstone School has been an incredible environment for both of our children. We've now experienced many years and different grades at the school, and in every year, my kids have felt supported, safe, and have been very well supported academically. Parents are very engaged and this feels like a community. The staff communicates well and frequently, and Principal Brunner and AP Richards are very dedicated to the ideals set forward in this school's founding- principals of equity, community, family engagement, and meeting each child where they are at. We are very happy to be a part of the TBBS family!
