Read what parents are saying about It Takes A Village AcademyThis school was horrible as a transfer student. Sadly enough, it was better than the school I went to beforehand. This school sucks at communication, has NO programs for technical students and does not even give AP classes to kids who earn 90’s, but instead gives them to kids who do not want them. They do not respond to emails nor phone calls, as I am attempting to get my transcript after they had ALL SUMMER to send my transcript to my college. Yet, they still aren’t and I’m being told I may not be able to register for spring 2024 semester due to this.
Posted by a community member on 9/7/2023Been calling this number posted on their website and absolutely NO ONE answers the phone. Unfortunately I live out of state now so I can’t just pop up there. All I want is a copy of my diploma.
Posted by a parent on 5/4/2023I would give it a 4/10 they need focus more about the students
Posted by a student on 7/21/2018This school is so bad. The kids in the school are bad. The people in charge act like they aren’t. If they act like they do then they are too strict. New rules are in place and they talk about how if a student breaks the rules they will be in trouble but from the very first day the rules were placed, kids went against it and nothing happened. The kids have no control, the staff has no control.
Posted by a student on 2/7/2018This school is horrible....some of the teachers have a genuine passion for what they do but most of them don't. I placed my child in this school once I went to the initial meet and greet they portrayed such a nurturing environment and the principal pretended to care about all of the students. However once my child attended it was found to be a below par school. My child goes to school Monday-Saturday and each day she comes home and has no homework and complains how when she ask for help with the class work the teachers ignore her. One of the staff even said to me that the school is horrible and the teachers don't know what they are doing. Please if you want your child to go somewhere in life please...please DON'T send your child here!!!!!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLess than humane. Staff requires training in empathy, communication and proper leadership. Serious changes is needed. No, are mandatory for the survival of this school. If parents continue transferring their children out of this school in such great masses and the school continues to lose funding it will eventually close.Parent Review6y ago - Ps 244 Richard R Green

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI posted a review 5 years ago about the way my child was treated his first time attending pre- k. He was diagnosed with Autism and the school said they still could not address his needs. Some people look at having a disability or learning disability as not normal or places a stigma on it. My child loved going to school each day in pre-k. They cut his school day down to two hours, to satisfy the teacher because she wasn't equipped to deal with him, or didn't even try. They never think about how the child feels, most people just do things for recognition and don't want the so called "Abnormal" child to mess up their program. I'm glad he's in a school that he is comfortable in, and they recognize his accomplishments. He is 8 years old now and he has came a long way. This is new for me I never dealt with Autism being a mother of three children. I've cried many days and nights, and laughed many days and nights. No one knows what you go through if they never walked in your shoes. I've learned to find ways to help my son, because he's in a world that he can't always navigate so I am his driver. I will never forget the way the school handle his condition, and how they made my son feel. There is NEST program for children with Autism in the school. They still told me they could not service him because I'd depend where they are on the spectrum. Once I have life my child will make it. Because he is determined, and a little more verbal than before. In life you never know what can come your way. If you live in glass house never throw stones. I've been an educator for 12 years, and it is sad to see the way some children are dealt with because they don't for the social norm.Parent Review3y ago - Parkway Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI absolutely love Happy Home. Being West Indian and having that same level of education that I had given to my daughter puts my mind at ease. My daughter can't wait to return. I had my daughter tested when she was four and she had acquired more knowledge than a six year old. She can read write spell and was doing this well before her 5th birthday. Children need structure and Happy Home provides that. I highly recommend Happy Home AcademyParent Review8y ago - Parkway Elementary & Preschool

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had 2 children attend Ebenezer, they graduated 9 years apart and I can honestly say the quality of education they received did not diminish with time. The level of excellence and the high standard to which each student is expected to maintain has never faltered. Ebenezer provided a genuine well-rounded Christian based education that gave them the spiritual strenght to survice the peer pressures and emotional tug of war they faced in high school and college. Ebenezer was the best investment I made for my children's future.Parent Review1y ago
