Read what parents are saying about Is 211 John WilsonI am a student at is 211 John wilson middle school it is my first year attending and i hope it will be my last. This school has teachers who just want to get a paycheck. I'm in the gifted program aka the Astral program in the school. The teacher was giving us a definition of a word and she was reading it off her phone! She is an english teacher by the way and the word was prefix. Kids bully my cousin and there is too much drama that will distract you. The teachers will hold grudges against your kids if they do something wrong and one time my teachers dragged a girl by her hoodie out the classroom and the teachers walk you to class and too many fights take place. DONT GO HERE!!

Posted by a community member on 7/11/2014I HAVE A DAUGHTER IN 6TH GRADE AT THIS SCHOOL. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST DECISIONS I EVER MADE. THIS SCHOOL IS VERY RODWY THE KIDS CURSE WITH NO REGARD FOR THE PRESENCES OF ADULTS OR PARENTS ENTERING OR LEAVING THE SCHOOL. SECURITY STAFF DISREGARDS OR JOINS IN WITH THE VULGAR BEHAVIOR. THE SCHOOLS STATES THAT HAVE 3 ACADEMIES WITH DIFFERENT FOCUSES THIS DOES NOT EXSIST. IN GYM CLASS MY CHILD STATE SHE DOES ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING NO GAMES OR SPORTS YET THEY GIVE OUT GRADES OF 85 90 TO MAKE IT LOOK GOOD OF COURSE. THIS SCHOOL IS AN EMBARRASMENT TO THE COMMUNITY AND I AM ACTIVELY TRYING TO GET MY CHILD OUT ASAP. THIS SCHOOL IS VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Posted by a parent on 3/10/2013My daughter attends the Astral program at this school, and I'm pleased with her teachers and principal. There's a heavy focus on disicipline and improving test scores so the students may exceed level 4+ standards so they may have a chance at competing with schools with level 6 students. The parent coordinator is great as well. He's easy to talk to and he keeps the parents regularly informed on the school's activities, and your child's behavior when necessary. This institution is a rare gem in Canarsie.
Posted by a parent on 9/10/2012I have had several experiences with this school and to say the least, they have great leadership. I take my hat off to Mr. Job, Ms. Delince, Mrs. James. They are definitely individuals that has left won me over with their dedication. In other cases...Ms. Bowman...in my opinion does NOT need to be apart of this school. She needs more experience in teaching and handling matters. She is definitely NOT one that I would recommend teaching students. I have heard and shared several personal negative experiences with her.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of two children that attend the school, I can attest that bullying is not tolerated at PS 115. As well, the Principal is accessible and wants to hear from Parents. Teachers are also accessible through cell phone or remind and through parent/ teacher meetings and conferences and at the end of a school day. I cannot respond to how effective teachers are because I always check my children's classwork and homework and explain any misunderstood concept. My children enjoy going to school at PS 115 Daniel Mucatel School and feel safe attending the school. The learning curriculum is what is assigned from the DOE so I give my children practice work for the next level ahead.Parent Review2y ago - Ps 279 Herman Schreiber

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school isn't that bad if you want the bear minimum their is this VERY VERY VERY rude assistant principle, She was rude to every one teacher staffs and student and even parents sometimes. If you have children that need specialized teacher you really need to push and push as a parent. This school likes to just push people through to do it because their was a kid who really needed help but they pushed him through anyways. For the people who didn't or don't have to deal problems through a school year you are lucky. Many children who lose temper easily and kids who act too grown for their age I'm a 2021 gradate I'm going on to 7th but please if your children needs help in this school you have to push. Thank you for reading enjoy the rest of school.Other Review1y ago - Ps 66
