Read what parents are saying about Martin Avenue Elementary SchoolThe parents, teachers, and administration at Martin Ave really care, a huge benefit of attending a school this size. Kids get special treats on their birthday from the PTA, there are so many fun events for students, and children truly feel excited to go to school every day. Our son adored his teachers, and the feeling was mutual. Expectations always felt reasonable and staff took appropriate actions whenever a student needed more attention emotionally, behaviorally, or academically. We've had an excellent experience.
Posted by a parent on 7/16/2021We feel so lucky to have been zoned for Martin Ave. Our first grader with ADHD was reading on a kindergarten level in the beginning of the school year. Through the help of the incomparable Mrs. Carrea, the support of the principal and school psychologist, extra reading services, and a 504 plan, he didn't just catch up to his peers with reading--he's now reading as well as second graders in the middle of their school year. We wouldn't hesitate to live anywhere zoned for Martin Ave.

Posted by a parent on 5/15/2020I am very happy with this school. It is a small school and I like that all students and teachers pretty much know each other. The teachers are great and all the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lot of parent involvement and fun events for the kids.

Not only is the education on level with top districts on LI, but my child is becoming stronger in values, morals, respect, organization, and kindness. I love the community feel of the school, that everyone knows each other and looks out for one another. The upper classman know all the under classman, and I've seen them run up to the younger ones at school events because they are legit excited to see them!
