Read what parents are saying about Ps 186 CastlewoodAll my 3 kids went to Castlewood and they enjoyed it and have fond memories of the teachers there (Ms Mia, School officer Mrs Zuly etc..) I am so happy they have a new principal (way overdue !!!). Mr. McLaughlin is certainly a positive change from prior Principal hdry - as everyone is smiling again and cheerful with each other. Great school to put your kids in based on what I SEE as the current choice of Principal and the helpful and interactive teachers!Thx!
Posted by a parent on 5/30/2023Amazing New Principal. I believe he is only temporary, but i hope he stays. Meets and greets everyday Infront of school, communication with staff and student and parents alike. And most importantly..... the attitude towards him with the teachers is so high. you can tell that they all love him and want him to stay. When hes around energy is high. When you have happy teachers, you have educated students.
Posted by a parent on 2/7/2023honestly i miss this school, great performance, I miss the teachers (except the coding teacher) and Mrs. S (from kindness committee) I would totally recommend this school

Posted by a community member on 12/7/2021Our first year in the school was fantastic: parent involvement was encouraged, projects came home, progress CLEARLY displayed in conferences through actual completed work. The second year has been completely different: parent involvement appears to be discouraged by administration, conferences are a joke (a grade report with no actual work to see any type of progress), homework is so infrequent we wonder why they bother, graduation ceremony was reduced to a classroom activity, communication has become virtually non-existent unless you ask and then follow-up is terrible...

They also have a few clubs like drama, volleyball, and the student union! The drama club gets invited every year to sing the national anthem somewhere! The student union is also a big part of 266 the provide bake sales, clubs and more! Overall I rate this school a 8/10. Send your kid/kids to PS/IS 266Q.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 224

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNothing extraordinary about this school. Wish they had an after school program with homework help. Extra academic support is during class so basically your child will be pulled from class, causing them to lack in one area and catch- up in another. Wish i could send my daughter to another school.Parent Review6y ago - Countryside Montessori School

Dont fall for their scam. They are NOT a private school or are they accredited by the MontessoriParent Review11mo ago - Yeshiva Har Torah

From kindergarten to Eighth Grade, I’ve felt like I was learning quickly, with every classmate as a friend. Today, I took my eighth grade math regents—possibly my last time being in Har Torah. I am completely prepared for what is to come. The teachers are amazing, and enjoy their job. They give themselves to their students, and know exactly what each child needs. Har Torah education is based on giving each child the highest education he can get as an individual, different for each person, but still working as a family. I’ve developed love for Torah, love for learning in general, interest in everything, high ambition, tremendous respect for superiors, perfect social skills (initially difficult for me), and intimate love for the staff and students. As Jews, we are all family, and in Har Torah, we all know it.One thing to note: This year—and only this year—roughly half of the eighth and seventh graders have not been educated on why they should keep the Torah. They still did, but not at the highest level. If your child is easily influenced, wait for two years to send them here. Otherwise, send them the day school starts, with no hesitation. I want to stress that Har Torah is the highest elementary and middle Yeshiva on and around Long Island, and those running it have been doing so for decades. My uncles attended school here, and they say they loved it at least as much as I. This is the best option for your child to get an education, including Torah, english subjects, and personal development. This is the best of the best.Oh, I almost forgot—Danny the security guard. Danny is the favorite of every student. His presence counts for a large amount of my enjoyment and feeling of friendship at this school. When you come over to our school, look for the average-height Indian security guard, and say hello. You will not regret anything.Student Review10mo ago - Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy
