Read what parents are saying about George L Dilworth Middle SchoolI have a fourth student attending Dilworth and feel it has improved since my other three attended. I am very happy with the student-teacher ratio and the personalized attention each student receives.
Posted by a student on 1/16/2020My son's 8th grade teacher is very effective no non-sense instructor. When he did not do his homework she informed me and made sure he still had to do it. She was very caring and only interested in his advancement.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2013Students heckled opposing team's players as administrators looked on, one even smiled and smirked approvingly. I recently attended my daughter's 7th grade volleyball game at this school and left in disgust after my daughter's A team game because a group of Dilworth students sat in front of my daughter's and heckled them the entire time. While such despicable and immature behavior from middle school students is not surprising, what was surprising was the fact that 2 administrators (male and female) were sitting less than 12 feet from these students and neither did anything for a very long time. It was not until minutes into the B team's game (more than 45 minutes after the students had heckled the A team and begun doing the same to the B team) that the female administrator walked over to the students and said something to the students. Of course, that did nothing to change the students' behavior as the male administrator had smiled at them just minutes before. What an awful experience! I now understand why there are bars on the hallway entrances ... I can only hope that at some point, Dilworth students are taught how to NOT be rude and immature. Awful, just awful!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe rating by Great Schools.org does not accurately represent how amazing this school is. Kate Smith is a Platinum level SEL school. This means the educators at this school not only educate each grades academic standards but also focuses on the whole child’s well being teaching them social emotional skills. This is one of the only elementary schools in WCSD that is also a Governor STEM designated school. The majority of staff members have worked at this site multiple years and know and love the families in the community. Also most teachers have a masters level degree. This school for the last few years has steadily increased closing the achievement gap as well which is not reflected in this schools score. I have 3 kids that attend this school. They have consistently grown each year and receive individualized attention. Just because this is a Title 1 school does not mean that it is a poor or under performing school. I would invite whoever makes the rating for Great Schools.org to go personally to see the amazing things that happen at this school prior to rating it. Since this is the 7th time I have tried to leave a truthful review, we will see if it finally posts to shed some facts about this wonderful school.Parent Review3y ago - Lincoln Park Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school endorses an atmosphere of bullying, allowing a female student to skip classes and seek out my son on his breaks and lunch to be vile and threatening towards my son, then branding him as a bully when he defends himself. None of the purported authority figures of the school have even discussed why, after a stay apart agreement was reached, the other student is allowed to repeatedly break the agreement with no consequences and offer my son the protection he deserves to have while obtaining his education. Awful school whose staff act concerned but take no action to protect it's studentsParent Review2y ago - Katherine Dunn Elementary School
