Good school with supportive teachers. Our child did good and advanced with his education.

As a parent, I love this school. My children are excelling and love going to school. We have loved every teacher we have had and would sing their praises! Big fans of Bilbray.

Please change the afternoon pickup routine it’s a mess. Someone in the office told me the kids and go line is not active for safety reasons and too many people walking through. But even with that being down now it’s still a ton of people walking through the parking lot, I go grab my kid and come back to my car and I am stuck and I can’t get out because all of these people are walking through from all these different ways. It’s an inconvenience all the way around and I don’t always want to walk miles just to get my kid and it’s hot here. Then when walk the mile to get your kid it’s totally unorganized as well they stand in a line then when the bell rings kids scatter like ants. What you all should consider doing for pickup is get walkie talkies, fix the communication system and order of things. The kids and go line needs to be open immediately Have the car riders outside andHave a worker verify the parent via walkie talkies in each car securing the safely of each child instead of just letting them scatterThen with the kids being out side and parents verified then they allowed to walk to there car and cars can’t proceed until all kids are in the vehicle eliminating people walking through the parking lot. It’s simple. Walkie talkie, communication and that will keep traffic movie. How you guys have it now is a mess. Thank you. Please change this I do not like it whatsoever. Then on top of that the person that opens the gate is never on time.

I want to share a different perspective as a Black parent with two daughters currently attending Sandra Thompson Elementary. Our experience here has been overwhelmingly positive. My older daughter is a straight A student who has consistently felt supported, encouraged, and celebrated by both her peers and teachers. She was even honored for her talents by winning the school-wide art contest and having her artwork featured on the yearbook cover, a moment that meant so much to our family.My younger daughter is currently in kindergarten and recently scored in the top 5% of all students at her grade level, which speaks volumes about the quality of instruction and attention she receives.The staff and teachers at this school have shown genuine care and dedication, not just academically but emotionally as well. My daughters feel safe, seen, and inspired every day they walk into this building.I won’t discredit another parent’s experience, but I do want to add that our experience as a Black family has been one of inclusion, encouragement, and high expectations. Diversity matters, and while no school is perfect, I’ve found Sandra Thompson Elementary to be a place where my children thrive and are treated with respect and value.

Let me just begin to say time has definitely changed with teachers compared to when I was in school. Initially I thought this school was great, but the way these teachers are is beyond frustrating. My kid dreads getting up every morning to deal with his teacher every day & when I attempt to address it no response. I dislike this for my kid I really do. CCSD is terrible!

Greatest school ever and the teachers would be the nicest they can to you.
