Read what parents are saying about David M Cox Elementary SchoolMy son and daughter are into 1st grade and 5th grade now. Principal, teachers, office staff are all wonderful!! David M Cox is the best school in this area. Many kids are coming from out of school zone because they loves this school. I agree with that.
Posted by a parent on 8/14/2017We very much enjoyed it! The fact that they offered classes like Guitar Lessons, fun art projects, and Spanish lessons just to name a few, after school was such a treat! She absolutely loved her teacher, made lots of good friends and can't wait to go back to school.
Posted by a parent on 7/18/2017Principal and office staff are Grade A, approachable, protective of the kids, like a big family. Lower grade teachers are lovely and seasoned.Music teacher (Papanek) is horrible. I'd heard she has a temper and have seen her physically pull a child off the assembly stage for chatting with a friend. She humiliated my 5 year old who came to her to report a child who wouldn't stop physically touching/tickling her. She took punitive measures and made her write her name on the naughty "frowny face board" in front of the other students for being a "tattle tale", which made my child cry and confused her (as she's been encouraged to tell trusted adults any time there is unwanted touching). Would love to see her gone and a teacher who builds the esteem of young ones (especially kindergarteners) as a replacement
Posted by a community member on 2/12/2017My son is going into 1st grade and he loved going to school during kindergarten. All the teachers we have come in contact with are very friendly and truly care about the children. They had really cool activities during school hours and after school as well.
Posted by a parent on 8/12/2016After home schooling my daughter for two years I was afraid to send her to a public school, but I have to say David M Cox is the best school for her the staff is very friendly the teachers are better then the best it feels more like I'm dropping my daughter off with family then at a school the after school programs are great and my daughter who is in the 3 rd grade wants to go to school is excited about it there is not one single adult in the entire school that I don't feel is family, my little girl has been there for two years now and I am extremely happy with this school.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe current principal and assistant principle are absolutely awful. They both refrain from practicing what they preach , kindness. The principle only prioritizes the kids whom parents are on the PTO. It’s a disgusting environment.Parent Review1mo ago - Aggie Roberts Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis review has been brewing for about 2 years since our child started at this school. Being the most expensive school in the state you would expect a better experience, especially being there is competition around every corner. Here are some of the issues we had:Teacher turnover: You almost quite literally don't know who your child's teacher is going to be by the day because they leave so often and they scramble to relace them.Child Hygiene: Their refusal to assist your infant/toddler in the pre-stages of bathroom care and potty care is unacceptable, and cost us TWO visits to the quick care for UTIs.Pay Gap: The principal drives a brand new Mercedes and wears Red Bottoms around while the teachers seem to leave as fast as they come due to pay scale.School Safety/Design: The school is poorly designed and offers minimal security compared to the competition. Actually the only security is the front door code. No cameras that parents can look at all. Our childs classroom was right at the front with direct access to outside, the lobby, and the courtyard.Food: There is none.Curriculum: The curriculum is terrible. The curriculum and one-on-one time with your child should reflect upon the price you pay for admission. I could put my child in public school if I wanted them to be just a number. In conclusion compared to the competition you are paying ABSURD prices for less time, you supply your own food, and force your kid into a uniform to match the façade of "luxury" in a sub-par school and environment. If you look at just 2 more schools that are even close to the cost, I put my bottom dollar that this will not be the one that you choose.Parent Review1y ago - Imprints Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent both of my sons here for preschool. The small class size, and attentive staff made me and my children feel safe. I loved the sense of community amongst the staff and the families. My boys learned so much and experienced a kind and loving atmosphere.Parent Review8mo ago - Merryhill School
