Read what parents are saying about Lynn Middle SchoolNeutral. Events not coordinated. Things are getting better with the new principal (Mrs. Ballard). The previous principal caused a lot of issues that are taking a while to correct.
Posted by a parent on 11/7/2019poor, substandard education but this is what you get when you pack the rafters with children of non citizen parents that do not speak English as their first language.
Posted by a parent on 2/28/2018My daughter attended Lynn for almost 2 years, and I ended up having her taken out completely! The staff is terrible, the bullying was outrageous, and my daughter's self-confidence, focus, and grades suffered tremendously. If you care at all about your child, enroll them elsewhere!
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2014With a heavy gang presence, a lot of kids, and a few decent teachers..I attended Lynn 2008-2011..Can't complain too much. I saw a lot of drugs, dealth with the construction of the new gym that took forever, and I did have a horrible art teacher. She would call out to students and scream at them etc. There are a few good teachers, and an algebra one who just didn't care. My last year, the school got a face lift and new principal. Which helped quite a bit. The school had 3-4 security guards patrolling while I attended. Before you send your kid here, know that Lynn does have a big time clique thing, so encourage making friends with a backbone, who have a backbone. It will help a lot.
Posted by a community member on 7/21/2013I've heard good things about Lynn now --I'm glad for the students. When my child attended that school two years ago, however, she had to put up with an awful teacher. She was not only bad and unfair -she was also one of the most unpleasant, callous, and erratic persons I have ever met. I do not wish that experience to anybody -and I wish teachers would be screened for any mental or emotional disorder before letting them deal with kids.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has a lot of negatives but the primary issue with this school is they do not want parents around and it is generally unsafe for children. This school is very unfriendly to parents and frequently yell at parents and are rude and unkind, They have a huge sign in the lobby that says no parents beyond this point but really they mean no parents are welcome at this school. When my child was in kinder and struggled to walk to class on her own the office worker would run up to me and tell me I could not walk her a few feet to her classroom as she was crying. Then this year I picked her up early they had me show my id and put it in a machine to verify my identify, which is great for safety, my daughter never came she walked right out the side door of the school and wandered the parking lot looking for me. If parents are not allowed to help there children then someone better be helping them. This school just cannot be trusted. There is no transparency between teachers and parents, no communication, and the staff does not communicate between each other. yesterday I was taking my daughter to the bookfair as I was chased down by someone office worker yelling "MAM; MAM MAM EXCUSE ME"-- scaring my daughter, I explained I was going to the bookfair she said "DIDN'T. YOU SEE THE BIG YELLOW SIGN THAT SAYS NO PARENTS!!" screaming at me in front of my child. I let her know I would verify this with the librarian and she said YOU BETTER. There is really no reason for screaming when she could just as easily walked up to me and talked to me like a human being. As I arrived to the bookfair parents and children were there and many more parents arrived. Unnecessarily rude treatment by staff to parents. This school does not want parents around and feels they are an unnecessary part of their children education, it is also sad when school personal treat other so rudely but try to teach children values of kindness and good character-- it just does not line up.Parent Review1y ago
