This school has amazing extracurricular activities to choose from: archery club, running club, bible club, cooking club, Zumba, basketball (has one of the State of New Mexico’s top rated basketball coaches), choir club, free after school tutoring, just to name a few. The principals advocate for families and fight for students to receive the best education whatever that might look like, they definetly work to think outside the box and improvise for the children. There are amazing teachers who have a compassionate heart for teaching and care about the children. The community events at the school bring people together and create positivity for the neighborhood. Be lucky to find this gem of a school within such a large public school system!

My experience with this school has been deeply disappointing, especially when it comes to safety and how concerns are handled. Issues that should be taken seriously are often minimized or brushed aside. Instead of addressing problems directly, staff tend to downplay situations and hope they disappear on their own.There is also a noticeable pattern of inconsistent treatment from teachers and staff, which at times feels discriminatory. Students and families deserve to be heard and treated fairly, but that has not been my experience.Unfortunately, both the principal and vice principal seem more focused on collecting a paycheck than actively supporting students or resolving concerns. They rarely listen fully, they dismiss valid issues, and they give the impression that they simply want you to stop asking questions.A school should be a safe, supportive environment, and leadership should set that tone. Right now, this school is falling short in those areas.

Mary Ann Binford Elementary has been an amazing school for my family over the years. I’ve had kids in grades K-5 here, and I’ve seen firsthand how much this school has grown and improved. My youngest is currently in kindergarten, and I’m so impressed by how much he has already learned!I’ve had the opportunity to work with several administrators over the years, but Principal Nieto is by far my favorite. She has brought incredible energy and leadership to the school, making so many positive changes. The addition of the new makerspace is such an exciting upgrade, and I’ve noticed a clear improvement in academics and test scores under her leadership.What truly sets the school apart now is its welcoming culture and sense of community. Principal Nieto and the staff have created an environment where families feel valued and included. I can’t recommend Mary Ann Binford Elementary enough for families looking for a school that truly prioritizes their students’ success and well-being!

My daughter attended this school k-4th perfectly fine until 5th grade hit. (Teachers)There was never an official teacher in the room because all of the teaches continuously left one after another. I would say she had about 12 teachers in ONE YEAR! This is outrageous! (Safety)There was also a lot of safety concerns for me as a parent. There would often be little to no supervision. One time there was an incident in my daughter’s class where someone had brought a lighter to school. This person had used the lighter to set a piece of their homework on fire and smoke filled the class room as no body noticed what this student was doing.(Principal)( Immediately after I asked to change my daughter out of the dangerous class). The staff and principal were unprofessional while addressing the situation. At one point they just cussed me and my husband out. So we decided to just pull our daughter out and home school her.100% don’t recommend sending your child to this school!

Had a very bad experience with the nurse's, our daughter is on a feeding tube and the school called cyfd and stated that we are not feeding our child, nurse also stated that we need to schedule our doctor's appointments when school is out? Doctor in Colorado was very upset and said we will take her to her appointments whether school is in session or not. Lost almost $800 from having to take time off to meet with both schools (other daughter went to school next door) also interviewed by CYFD. If you have a kid with disabilities please stay clear of this school. Doctor said we are doing everything perfectly and her weight was excellent. Sad situation

My Daughter has attended Legacy Academy since she was in preschool (K4). She is now a senior giving her 14 years in total. After having 2 older daughters attend public schools, I jokingly tell people I would sooner sell a kidney than take her out of Legacy. This is a fantastic school in every way, AP classes, NHS, Sports, Fine Arts, and much more, but the most important aspect is that it's a biblical world view with a focus on discipleship in every area. The teachers and staff are excellent and truly care about the children, their safety, and their future. I can honestly say the worst part is that her time at Legacy is coming to an end and it's doubtful we will find a college with the same values, however, I believe wholeheartedly she is well prepared for life because of her time at Legacy.

Our 3 children went to Abundant Life Christian School, for one year. We can honestly say it did WAY more harm than good. Our children were name called, kicked, hit, they witnessed extreme disobedience from other children. They also learned more about worldly things than any Christian family would be okay with. We have an extensive paper trail of all these events and MORE. The response was always they were “working on it” The last straw was our 6 year old came home asking questions about a topic that was extremely too mature for him to be asking about. He heard it at school….. we brought it up to the director and this was her response:—“Abundant Life Christian School has accepted the responsibility to be the Gospel and Christ to the students enrolled here. Through our accreditation with the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools we also accepted the calling to become an evangelical school rather than a closed school. This means we accept students who NEED the Gospel, Biblical training, an introduction to Christ, and who will come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ”Their curriculum is Christian based, so they are basically teaching one thing with the curriculum, but then allowing the students to completely show the opposite. We pay for a Christian school to have our children surrounded by like minded students, with like minded families . That definitely is not the case at this school. We went to visit almost every Christian private school in Albuquerque, some have the SAME accreditation, but were all “closed” schools meaning you had to be a Christian to attend a Christian school. We pray for this school and if they want to be an evangelical school make Christian parents aware at registration. We would have DEFINITELY passed had that been discussed, it’s completely misleading and our goal is to make it understood so other families don’t go through the hurt and damage that we did.
