Read what parents are saying about Edward Gonzales Elementary SchoolMy son had a really bad experience in this school with bulling. We reported this several times with the teacher and the principal. We took it to APS and nobody did anything. I’m glad the school year it’s almost over. My son will be going to the different t school.
Posted by a parent on 4/12/2023I dont feel from grades 1-3, the children are obtaining an adequate educations, especially in MATH. There needs to be more tutors availble, as we are not fluent in the current math and many times cannot help our grandchildren. Our grandchild is in the 4th grade and failing and we feel helpless...... extremely concerned grandparents.
Posted by a community member on 4/28/2014The school is ok but I notice my sons teacher is always absent. Looking to change schools.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has amazing extracurricular activities to choose from: archery club, running club, bible club, cooking club, Zumba, basketball (has one of the State of New Mexico’s top rated basketball coaches), choir club, free after school tutoring, just to name a few. The principals advocate for families and fight for students to receive the best education whatever that might look like, they definetly work to think outside the box and improvise for the children. There are amazing teachers who have a compassionate heart for teaching and care about the children. The community events at the school bring people together and create positivity for the neighborhood. Be lucky to find this gem of a school within such a large public school system!Parent Review4y ago - Carlos Rey Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a terrible school to send your kids to. The classroom’s are filthy and outdated. The teachers are miserable due to Administration. The Principal needs to retire, she is hateful to staff and students alike. I am speaking as a former employee of Carlos. Rey. There are so many better options than this school.Other Review1y ago - Rudolfo Anaya Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has attended private school for Pre-K. We decided to take a chance and try our neighborhood school. I fear that my husband and I made a terrible mistake. The school has been rated an F school for the last two years. I have emailed the principal about a school-wide clean up that takes away instructional time that students clearly need. I haven't received a response yet. I am providing my son with additional instruction to ensure that he doesn't regress. We plan on moving him next year.Parent Review7y ago - Helen Cordero Primary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was bullied and the administration did not respond in an appropriate manner. The CPS asked me to work with APD since the injury was quite extensive. I do not recommend this school due to the sheer amount of bullying that I have observed. I won't touch on the other issues such as the educational factor or the bad parking...Parent Review7y ago - Legacy Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe transferred our children to Legacy Academy at the beginning of covid, and it was the best decision we could have made. They had been in another private school most of their lives (and a public school for two years), and the difference was profound. My children truly love this school and are thriving academically, socially, and in their extracurricular activities. They had never felt so connected in a school before this. For a small private school, the sports, fine arts, and school-wide activities they offer are fantastic. They also have an honors class and started an Ap program. I have had only positive experiences over the last four years with teachers and administration, and I feel really blessed that we found this school.Parent Review9mo ago - Abundant Life Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has gone to this school since she was in Pre-K. Next year she will be going to the 5th grade and I'm so sad we have to find another school after this. She loves it here. Teachers are caring and welcoming. My daughter is being taught great Christian values. She has learned so much and is much smarter than your average 10 year old and I can give the school most of the credit for that. We also go to church here and again, it is amazing. The praise and worship will speak to you like nothing else. Thank you Western Heights for everything! God is good!Parent Review6y ago
