Cleveland Middle School

Comanche has been a great place for my children. My older boys attended here and now my youngest is there. The staff is loving and supportive to my child. He loves going to school everyday. I also started subbing and only sub here. They are supportive to me as a parent and a sub. Anytime I have any issues the principal and staff (teachers and office staff) are more than happy to help me out. Cannot recommend this school more. They are truly amazing.

GBES is an exceptional place where students and families are welcome. The staff at Governor Bent is dedicated and hardworking, always going above and beyond to support every student. They foster an inclusive environment that works with English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and Indigenous students. We are truly a community school by providing resources to families.We commitment to social-emotional learning (SEL), which helps students develop vital life skills, including the school's core values of "Solve Problems, Show Respect, and Make Good Decisions." The school also has a great sense of community, hosting fun events that bring families together, like the Pumpkin Run and the Festival of Lights.The students and school has also shown progress academically. Attendance rates are improving, and students are achieving notable gains in both math and reading. The school’s consistent improvement in iReady and iStation scores. With a fantastic staff, a strong commitment to both academic and social-emotional growth, and a strong sense of community, it's no surprise that GBES is the place to be!

Our two daughters have been a part of this wonderful school community for three years where they have benefited from high standards in behavior and academics. Most importantly, they are growing spiritually in a positive and supportive community that encourages them to love Jesus and develop a personal relationship with Him. The sports program is well organized and teaches good sportsmanship and keeps students physically fit. The teachers have inspired my daughters to play school at home!

My kids attended for 3 years. During that time they had some good teachers, a few great teachers. But do know this is a legacy school, generations of families have gone there and if you aren’t one of them you will feel it. Parents were not very friendly and for a Catholic school, some definitely not very christ like. We had a few minor problems while there and I reached out to the principal and never heard back, not one time. There is also very little diversity there, my kids were never mistreated for that reason by other kids, but they definitely noticed they were different than the other kids and that became an issue for their own self esteem. They also really just never fit in with the other kids there. We chose try the switch to public school for the emotional and mental well being of our children of color and are so glad we did. To my surprise, public school has been great for our kids. They are happy and doing great academically, and as a whole our family feels much more welcome than we ever did at annunciation.
