Somerville Middle School

Our son attended VDV from kindergarten to fifth grade. All of the teachers gave him and the other students the love and the attention needed to make their education experience outstanding. The curriculum was exactly what our son needed, and if there were any adjustments required, the faculty made the required adjustments. Me. Reavy and Mrs. Hayes (when she was there) both provided exemplary care and service for the entire school.

This review is mainly for their panthers preschool program and administrative staff. My daughter attended the preschool program when it was at Crim and I loved it. I was shocked to hear the entire program moved to Adamsville 2 years ago but thought it should be the same as all the teachers are the same. Boy was I wrong. I learned what a difference it makes when you have good supporting and administrative staff. The staff at Adamsville do not communicate with you and very unresponsive. You can never reach anyone even when you have an urgent matter. The nurse is always out of office and doesn’t reply until at least over a week later. And more importantly, they lie about a lot of things. When you can get to someone, they will tell you what you want to hear just to brush the matter off when in reality, they don’t care and aren’t/won’t do anything to address or resolve your issue. My son lost transportation this year and I was told there’s no school bus for everyone in the preschool program. That was a lie as I see preschoolers hop on the buses everyday during pick up. Then I asked again and was told none of the bus service my area. That was also a lie as I see a bus with 2 students on it pass by my street everyday. So when you ask a question they don’t want to answer, they will just ignore you completely. But to be fair, the teachers in the program are wonderful and they truly care for each and every student. Some teachers will go above and beyond to ensure the well being of the students. My daughter had such great experiences with her teachers (which they are still in Adamsville) that she still talks about how wonderful they are to this day (she is currently in grade 1). There is no point in wasting your money in this program when you can pay a little more and have longer hours and better than experience elsewhere. The school hours are so short that I literally only have 2 hours in between drop off and pick up. Every day, I just have the urge to pull my son out of the program just to keep my sanity. But the only reasons why I kept my son there is because of the teachers and he loves going to school to play with his classmates. I cannot wait for the school year to be done.

Saint Ann Classical Academy has been such a blessing to our family. My boys are so blessed and happy that they go there. They learn so much compared to the public school that seems to just push them through even if they don’t understand. They really nurture the students and care about their success. They emphasize not only learning but critical thinking skills that are crucial in today’s world. It’s not flashy or high tech which is also great because it makes kids actually need to learn and get away from all the screen time that is not only proven not to be a good thing, mentally or psychologically, but gives them the opportunity to learn or improve on other skills to enhance their learning. Plus, the school’s curriculum encourages students to learn Latin; as well as helps guide students to be better people by learning and understanding the catholic faith.I would definitely recommend St. Ann’s to anyone who is considering sending their child to a private or faith based school.

This is an amazing school I love it so much. You learn so much throughout the years this is my 3rd year and its amazing. The teachers are nice and the principal is amazing and cares for the students. The teachers are eager for you todo well and they don't want you to fail. They also have extra credit so it helps out your grade they treat all the students the same its an epic school.

Tremendous Catholic school. Devout teachers and staff. A classical education worthy of my ancestors sacrifice. Mass, twice a week and adoration at one of the most beautiful Catholic churches you’ll ever visit. I’ve moved my family nearby just to be able to go to a school of this quality!
