Ironia Elementary School

I grew up in Randolph and knew I wanted to return to raise my kids here. Center Grove recently recognized as a National Blue Ribbons School and it is so deserved. From the administration to the teachers, the guiadance counselors to speech therapists, this school has the best of the best. Communications are frequent and informative, parent involvement is encouraged and the safety of the students is of top concern. I highly recommend CG!

The daycare at the school is good, but the education once you enter the elementary school is very poor. The teachers aren't well trained and are unable to manage a classroom. I thought with a high teacher to student ratio that the education would be more individually focused, but because of the poor quality of the teaching staff that I and several other parents I know of experienced, the teachers are unable to handle anything other than students who sit quietly and don't move. If children as young as 4 or 5 can't sit and focus for hours on end they are punished and removed from the classroom. While some of the teachers may be emotionally supportive, others berate the children telling them that they're bad students, which destroys their self-esteem. The school refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing on the part of their teaching staff and instead engages in victim blaming.

I had high hopes for this high school several years ago. There is a revolving door of unqualified teacher's Some who have no teaching background. It's come to my knowledge that the grading system is inflated and the students do not receive the grades that they earn. The Administration Is known to change the grades From failing to passing to make the school look better for incoming students. From what I hear, The students get credit for work that has not received or not completed. Yet the school preaches integrity. Supposedly they receive an automatic 50% no matter what. The administration does not stick up for The teachers And caters to the students ever need without any discipline.. As they say the inmates run the asylum. For several very good teachers that have left the school over various reasons and recently Well beloved science teacher.. buyer beware! Save the tuition and send to a different private school or public school.
