Read what parents are saying about Plainfield Academy for the Arts & Advanced StudiesSure, the place is nice but the only problem is the "privilages" that a student needs to continue enjoying the school. Heres the thing, not everyone makes these problems, not only that but even if you cancel the stuff we are allowed to do, they will continue to do it. What type of learning is that? Another problem is, you say your preparing us for the future yet the school is like an office. The manager is the teacher telling us what to do and we are the workers listening to what they tell us to do.
Posted by a community member on 2/14/2023Both my children attend this school and they both strive in ways I wouldn't be able to imagine at any other school. They are both in AP courses, continuously aim to be on honor roll each semester and their future focus is impeccable. I would love to take the credit for having these brilliant minds but before attending PAAAS they did not attempt nearly as hard as they do since entering the school. They are greatly supported by their teachers and students work together to help one another. They both admire their respective studio and teachers whom push them to their heights. Not only do they push them to their heights, they allow them to understand the necessity of those lessons for the real world. Now understand, I am a parent and not part of the school administration. I can not speak for anyone else but my children but I would recommend this school to anyone who is passionate about the arts and future development.
Posted by a parent on 2/17/2018Its time to stop running away from school to school. Our young people desire to have a Education that can help them fit into a good life style that can meet their needs in life. I'm ready to sue the broad of Plainfield. Take the money and give it to my student. They buy the education they need. Wake up parents we to make a stand.
Posted by a community member on 8/30/2016The principal appears to be a yes woman. When teachers call out there are usually no substitutes the children either sit in on other class which is not productive because the class is over crowed so no one is learning or they are sent to the small dance rm during a dance class. The district is horrible we put the super in office and can't even speak to her that is mind boggling. Paaas used to be better they used to have auditions to get in now its just whatever.
Posted by a parent on 11/23/2015This school has great potential. It would be great if the district would support it 100% like it supports the other schools in the district. The principal of the school is dedicated, but clearly in over her head as repeated request for vice principal goes unanswered. The school is a grade 7-12 and it makes no sense that the school is understaffed and in a building that is way to small for the number of students and programs that should be available to the students at a Performing Arts School.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give this School 10 out of ten stars. This school promotes parent involvement and all of my children’s teachers have been proactive in meeting their needs academically and emotionally. They really stress the importance of daily attendance, respect for others, self accountability, and praise positive behavior. Their are also many workshop and family dinners held at the school to teach parents how to assist their child with reading math, science and study habits. There’s a strong sense of community here and the PTA and the school work wonderfully together for the success of all the students.Parent Review6y ago - Clinton Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis place is terrible! i went here one year in 2016 and the teacher was really unfair to me, and the kids were really mean. also, you weren't allowed to talk at lunch. what kind of school doesn't let kids talk at lunch? would give zero stars if i could. hope things are better.Other Review1y ago - Irene E Feldkirchner Elementary School
