She has thrived being back at school (since public school was so inconsistent being in person and virtual). Teachers and students know each other and provide a positive community to be a part of.

Posted by a parent on 4/29/2021We have 4 children there now and our oldest graduated a few years ago. There is truly a family atmosphere at GSA. The education is great and the principal there now is dedicated to the school and the children!
Posted by a parent on 4/28/2021Our son loves Good Shepherd. The school must be doing right because it shows on how our son conducts himself outside of school, especially at home. We are happy that what we strive hard to improve on our son's learning ability and character development has been amplified by the school in many ways.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school! They teach you well and also give fun to the students. The teachers are nice, but strict at the same time. The teachers are very engaged in what they are doing. They care about the students and give them a safe and clean environment. The hallways are clean, the bathrooms are pretty clean, and the food is good. I would rate this school a 8/10 which is pretty good. I would definitely recommend going there if you want your children to have an amazing time. The grades are pre k all the way to sixth grade. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI appreciate that my child is learning about the Lord at school. Attending a public school was a nightmare with the teachers' and principals' lack of support, so having a new beginning at ALA is a Godsend. However, I am concerned with whether teaching is up to par with competing schools and state standards. Not all the teachers are certified or have even attended college to teach so the strategies are lacking as well as understanding the methods of teaching, reteaching, and meeting students where they are. There needs to be a bigger push on academics and possibly having students rewarded by being inducted into the Junior Honor Society to motivate and encourage young learners.Another concern is the high teacher turnover rate and the administrative team's lack of supervision in supporting their teachers' needs. Lastly, it is a Christian school and the superintendent is wonderful. I hope he is closely assessing where ALA can step up and become a reputable Christian school known for its academic rigor and development of future leaders.Parent Review1y ago
