Read what parents are saying about Summerfield Elementary SchoolWe came to Summerfield during my son's 3rd grade year. He is now almost done with his 4th grade year. I am SO impressed with the teachers, staff and principal. Teachers are abreast of and fully integrating all of the latest in technology and STEM initiatives into the classroom. All 5th graders have chrome books, and that program will be expanded to lower grades. I cannot speak any more highly if this school.
Posted by a parent on 4/11/2017I am very happy with the principal, teachers and staff and so is my child.
Posted by a parent on 5/2/2014I think that the school is a great school but some of teachers need to learn how to encourage our children a little more. This school has teachers who really care for our children and some are just here to say that they have a job to go to. (ONLY for the PAY CHECK) I believe that if some teachers would work along side of the parents and vise vera our children would continue to be encouraged and believe within themselves that they could do anything they put their minds to do.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far, so good for us! My child attended kindergarten last year and has just entered first grade. Her kindergarten experience was very good. She had attentive teachers who always kept the parents involved and the kids engaged (even during home-school time) My child exited her kindergarten year more confident and socially evolved than before she entered:)Parent Review1y ago - Gables Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attends Pre-K this school year. He is doing well. I have truly enjoyed the school and teachers for the past couple of years. It is helpful for us parents to continue being involved with our kids in the school activities and attend the wonderful workshops to help make it a great school. Keep it up and "Go Green Grove"!Parent Review7y ago - Shark River Hills Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son had an amazing first year in Pre-K at SRHES. As a parent, I could not be happier with the community feel of this school, and how welcoming all of the other Shark River families have been. His teacher and paraprofessional teacher were extremely knowledgeable and dedicated. As a fellow Early Childhood educator, I am impressed by the rigor of the preschool curriculum (Tools of the Mind). I cannot believe how many early reading and writing skills my 3 year old practiced every day! He also learned great routines, responsibility, and emotional regulation skills. This school has laid a great foundation for my son's school career.Parent Review8mo ago - Childrens Center of Monmouth County

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWARNING: im very disturbed by the treatment my son has received, my son is a 21 year old non verbal person with severe autism, he has been attending children's center for a decade. Lately my son has had some new behaviors where he is removing his clothing in the classroom being very non compliant n disruptive which I understand is challenging behaviors to deal with, but my son has been expelled from school for this! The principal is appalled by this n says my son cannot return to school unless he has a medical clearance to make sure it's safe to return. They also said they don't want to touch him! I'm confused isn't this a school for people with disabilities? How are they overwhelmed at this behavior isn't this what their trained for? But they are being very discriminating saying they don't want to touch him like he's an animal! And using the bogus excuse that it's for safety. They had me sign a consent for him to wear a bodysuit to prevent the disrobeing so if they have a suit for that doesn't that mean that some kids take their clothes off? But I think the real reason is my son is 21 n they just don't care or want to help him anymore n thats very sad. So word of advice please don't send your child here they will receive no help n be discriminated so don't waste you or your child's precious time.Parent Review1y ago - Corporate Toddlers

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, I think this school is pretty great. When I was here, we kept the same classmates with us as we progressed forward through grade levels. This allowed us to bond and create a little community, or more like a family. Although this school is closing, it will never be forgotten.Other Review5y ago - Hillel Yeshiva School
