Read what parents are saying about South Brunswick High SchoolI went here for only Freshman year of high school and absolutely hated it. Worst experience ever! I moved to a school with not only a higher rating but also felt way less stressful and even though there is still competition, it is not to the point of South Brunswick. Crazy place SBHS, would never recommend! What also sucks are that it used to be super diverse a few years ago but it is leaning towards only Asian, and teachers favor them which is unfortunate. As an Asian myself, I am saying this lol. Please do not join this place, you will regret it especially if academics is not your only priority.

Posted by a student on 5/20/2022I only have issue with people like Amy Finkelstein being incharge and not doing any work.
Posted by a parent on 5/3/2021I am a current sophomore at SBHS, and I would say the school presents itself as a welcoming place but hides many things underneath. The most frustrating to me has been the achievement gap, especially for students in lower classes. I am in AP US History, and I receive textbooks from 2016, but my younger sister is in English I, and her textbook is from 1989. It is absolutely ridiculous. There is so much academic competition as well, which is a good thing for grades, but absolutely debilitating for a student's mental health. Many many students here feel as if they are not good enough, even if they score all A's on their report card and try their best. Grades really do measure self worth here, and it's incredibly sad to see. The achievement gap really is no joke though; there are many low-income students within South Brunswick, yet most of the students here do not even know what food stamps or free lunch is. Low-income students are extremely underrepresented and unheard, even by staff. I have been at South Brunswick for years, and I have also been a low-income student for years, and it is terrible to see that the people here have no awareness of the outside world or the struggles of their peers. If you are a low-income parent, you can roll the dice and see what happens, but likely your child will be sent to a "lower" class no matter how smart they are. Teachers also have racial bias, and tend to favor Asian students more. The school is also extremely overpopulated. This school is good if you want your child to be 100% focused on academics with no contact with the outside world. I would highly recommend sending your child to another school, especially if they are white, Black, or Hispanic.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my kids went to this school. The teachers are competent as well as compassionate. And they make learning super fun. If there was a day that my kids didn’t want to go to school, it was only because they were unwell. This school sets the bar high. Very happy and I would highly recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago - Town Center Es Plainsboro

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKnowledge Beginnings of Princeton, NJ is a happy place for many children, families, and teachers. It truly is a "home away from home" for many. Sweet, helpful, passionate, and dedicated teachers are always smiling - happy to see the children and their parents.Principal Review8y ago - Noor-Ul-Iman School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is very toxic and the admin pretends like they want to "help" when in reality, they just want you to smile and keep your mouth shut. The admin favors some over others and will make your life hell if you're not on their favorite list. It is a mentally draining environment to work in. Everyone is fake to eachother.Other Review1y ago - Yinghua International School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn its ability to provide a solid elementary education in a dual language (Mandarin/English) immersion setting, the Ying Hua International School located in Kingston, NJ, is second to none. I have been a parent at Ying Hua for over five years and I can positively attest to the school's ability to educate children in a way which promotes original thinking and creates independent learners who are curious, culturally aware and confident. The International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy which they have adopted, inspires the delivery of a varied and holistic curriculum, through the engagement of local and global communities, bringing alive the concept "the world is our classroom". The teachers' commitment to excellence is evidenced by the attention which they pay to each child. Differentiated learning is consistently practiced within the classroom amid a healthy social environment which embraces and celebrates children and families from different backgrounds and ethnicities. My children return home daily, inspired and delighted by what they have learnt, eager to share the wisdom they've acquired. Their enthusiasm for learning in an environment where teachers and administrative staff work respectfully and collaboratively with us as parents, in a relationship which is mutually supportive, have yielded considerable benefits for them, and for us as a family. The Ying Hua International School is an educational gem and I wholeheartedly recommend it.Parent Review9mo ago - Harmony School at Princeton
