Read what parents are saying about Mahatma K. Gandhi SchoolOur teachers deal with many issues everyday!!! But they still manage to encourage, challenge, and most importantly support our children. I am extremely greatful to all my teachers.
Posted by a parent on 5/4/2016PS 23 is one of the best school journal square/jersey city, because of helpful and friendly teachers. If you send email or call they will answer you on same day. Teachers' do work with parents to help kids get better in their school and grades.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis schools has some good teachers that are nice, respectful and kind to the students like Mr.Quilang etc. the principals and others, are very rude and disrespectful if the kid may have some bad days the school will automatically assume they need home training , there rude , and there is something mentally wrong with them. The school claim to have spoke to the other parents but when i spoke to other parents they claim the school doesn't call or email at all.Parent Review3mo ago - Learning Community Charter School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child loves going to school here. Wakes up excited everyday to go. Some of the administrators I’ve dealt with are amazing. Parents are meh. Not everyone’s friendly but that’s the least of my worries. There are several flaws. As a parent, I shouldn’t be the last person alerted of things happening with my child. Especially if they’re being looked at as “essential”. I also encountered a teacher that quite clearly couldn’t handle the class and seemed to have a personal vendetta against my child. They rarely dealt with them directly but had all the opinions and “issues” in the world that I didn’t know about. The special education services are practically non-existent. It’s “funny” that their website states that 10-15% of their students receive SPED services, yet the provisions are lacking. And that’s certainly an understatement. The inclusivity is not there. Charter or not, it should be illegal how insufficient the Special Ed is here. If you have a child that requires SPED or has an IEP, save your time and go elsewhere. They are unequipped and uneducated on dealing with such circumstances. You will be pawned off to be “someone else’s problem”.I will be moving to a charter that actually cares for and works with their SPED students. And certainly making some noise upon exiting. I can’t speak on the upper grades as I don’t intend on my child getting that far at all. But seeing as the school scores high in most proficiency lists for JC, I’d assume the regular education is “of standard”. Sadly, I will not be staying to find out. I would recommend this school if your child is complacent and needs little to no help. I can’t recommend otherwise.Parent Review4mo ago - Martin Luther King, Jr No. 11 Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two girls going to Primary Prep. One in the second grade and one in a toddler's program. My second grader started at Primary Prep in Kindergarten. She loves her school and all the teachers she had so far. My two year old loves it too and has not cried once. I love the fact that it is small but very diverse and also very affordable compare to other private schools. All my daughter's friends are from different backgrounds; Russians, Indians, Filipinos, Koreans, multi-cultural families, LGBT families,,, all in her small class of less than 20 kids!I wish the school has more progressive educational method with more outside recess time and nature oriented learning experience but I knew going in it is more traditional school. My girls are doing exceptionally well and sometimes I feel my older one needs to be more challenged but what is the most important is the loving and caring environment and she definitely has it at Primary Prep. Also Mrs. Hoffman and all the teachers and staffs have been amazing during this pandemic. The school has been open with in-person classes this whole year with a very few closes and we also have virtual class options. Even in the beginning of pandemic, school came up with structure for virtual classes very quickly and ran smoothly. All my friends who moved out to suburbs with the best school districts continue to suffer even to this day. I have to say, Primary Prep's tuition is much less than my friends' property taxes in the suburbs. This is the best hidden secret in Jersey City!Parent Review3y ago - Genesis Academy
