Frank R. Conwell No. 3 Elementary School

Generally we were happy at this school for the 3 years we attended. However, the school’s mostly computer based assignments were really problematic in my view. Likely a JCPS-wide issue. Most of the teachers we had were great, bar one who generally just seemed checked out and done with teaching. Hands off, kids graded their own work. 504s are only followed when parents pressure the school. The principal is ok, perhaps a bit ineffective. The community is fantastic, and the PTO is really involved.

This school is incompetent and doesn’t take mental health seriously. They also extremely don’t accommodate students with disabilities even though they claim they do. Specific teachers have been hired and talk bad about other students in inappropriate ways in-front of other students.

Esta escuela es pésima, cuando inscribí a mi hijo me hicieron dar 500 dólares en garantía, jamás se me devolvió , saqué a mi hijo de ahí por que en varias oportunidades el bus de la escuela lo dejaba allá por ser su after school y no le abrían la puerta , o sea que mi hijo debía volver en el bus al colegio y yo auséntame de mi trabajo y correr a buscarlo , la única respuesta que daban es que no sentían el timbre.. pésima atención por lo mismo lo saqué de ahí , y mi garantía Jamás fue devuelta…This school is terrible, when I enrolled my son they made me give 500 dollars as a guarantee, it was never returned to me, I took my son out of there because on several occasions the school bus left him there because it was his after school and did not give him They opened the door, that is, my son had to go back to school on the bus and I absent myself from work and run to look for him, the only answer they gave was that they did not hear the bell... terrible attention for the same reason I took him out of there, and my guarantee was never returned...

My daughter has attended since the FAA opened in 2013, and she absolutely loves her school. I have gotten to know personally the very approachable, dynamic, and competent management team. The 3 sections K/Pre-K, Elementary and Middle School are equally strong and provide children with a top-notch education with a level of cultural exposure and fully bilingual setting you will not find elsewhere. Why should you consider this school? For a French family it is a no-brainer. Half of the teachers come from France bringing with them the culture and teaching philosophy. The level is significantly above public schools in France. Even for French parents settled permanently in the US, why deny your child the chance to be completely fluent and be able to communicate in French with grand-parents back home?For American families, the English program is very rigorous, with advanced materials, and children are at no disadvantage vs those in the best private schools. 8th graders have gone on to some of the best high-schools in NY/NJ. As a bonus you will enjoy being connected with the international community of the FAA. And yes your child will be bilingual.

As parents, our family couldn’t be more thrilled with our child’s experience at Waldo International School. Their curriculum is challenging and engaging. Waldo's STEM program is amazing. My son is inspired to go back every day! We have been with the school for a while now and really love that they concentrated on problem-solving skills. Can't say enough about the teachers and administrative team. They go above and beyond; we have experienced firsthand the level of care that goes into every lesson and IB project. The administration is absolutely wonderful and flexible. As working parents, we are also happy with the afterschool enrichment program knowing that our son is participating in extracurricular activities. We highly recommend Waldo International School.
