Good experience with pre-k special needs program

My daughter attends Irving. What I like most about the school is that the teachers are very approachable, keep you up to date with activities and progress of your child. The principal updates all parents via e-mail with upcoming school and town activities. Overall, this is a nice school with friendly teachers & staff.

P-k experience (as the parent) was in general was a great one. Instead of stars, I will grade this school a B+. Hopefully next year Irving will be acing it. My child had a great first year and good experience with the teachers. Has learnt so much, however, I did have a few disappointments (which I'm sure every school has) but will share. During field trips, some teachers did not seems to stay calmly organized. Some I noticed to be chatting away in a group instead of keeping a serious hawk eye on the kiddos especially the 3 and 4 year olds. Kids are faster and sneakier than you think and for that you need as many folks to make sure everyone is safe and sound. Second disappointment, there is a certain person at the main office who is absolutely rude with parents. I haven't seen her react badly with children so far but oh dear I will not be as nice next time she acts that way with me or others. And I know many other parents who feel the same about her. Perhapsh this shall be discussed with the PTO.

Irving has amazing teachers and support staff that are not only great at their jobs but really care about the kids. It has a very active PTO that does a lot for the children. I son has learned so much, not just about school work but about how to be part of the community by going to Irving.

We now have our second child in Irving. Both of our kids have had a great experience with wonderful teachers. The school works hard to create a comfortable atmosphere for kids new to school and both boys learned a ton.
