Posted by a principal on 8/15/2023As a teacher at Lalor Elementary, I have never been this disrespected by students. It’s such a shame that the administration is not supportive or understanding of teachers’ perspectives and does absolutely nothing about addressing discipline. The teacher morale is very low at this school. Students talk over each other, talk back to their teachers, and pick on each other constantly both inside and outside of the classroom. I wish that as an educator, I was not blamed for causing my students to misbehave, but rather valued and understood as someone who cares deeply about their well-being and physical safety.
Posted by a teacher on 2/9/2023School is filled with bullies. My daughter comes home, telling me she doesn't want to go back. Some girls in her class are mean and rude, to the kids and the teacher too. The teacher tries to stop the bullies, but there is too much behavior problems going on. I'm transferring my daughter out. Thank goodness.
Posted by a parent on 12/28/2018For anyone reading this, please do reconsider sending your child here. If you're in Hamilton, you have better options. The school has many issues to deal with. It's sad. For the sake of your child's education, pick another school!
Posted by a parent on 10/23/2018Its bad but not because of bad teachers &staff. They mostly good. Lalor school is bad because Hamilton don't care about Lalor school. Lalor is bad because of bad parents, bad location & a bad Child Study Team. Pick &drop off is dangerous because of parents. Somebody going to get hurt or die one day. Parents speed, park in crosswalks, or too close to crosswalks. They backup into the crosswalk &they don't even see kids behind them. They don't look where they going. They park in front of people driveway. I seen the school trying to make it better but parents don't listen. The township don't care about what goes on at Lalor because the parents don't got money and the school too close to Trenton. The bully problem is both kids and parents. I think the school try with the kids but they do stuff like make up programs that reward bad kids for doing 1 good thing like holding a door, but good kids hardly rewarded for doing the same stuff . Good kids is just expected to keep doing it with no reward. Most of them bad kids got learning or other problems. The child study team need to step in but the don't. The regular teachers & staff got to handle them.

The principal Mrs. Reap is EVERYTHING and she is there daily. She is hands on and she truly knows each and every student. I noticed her interaction when we toured the school as well as on a daily basis. If there is ever a question, problem or a concern - you are assured that it will be addressed and if not - you can definitely inquire with her.My oldest child had Ms. Lansing (3rd) , Mrs. Marrousu and(4th) now Ms. Bevins (5th). My youngest had Ms. Barris (1st) , Mrs. Apgar (2nd) and now Mrs. Sprague (3rd). I haven't met the new teachers just yet but today was the first day back and they are really excited and looking forward to tomorrow. The past teachers were GREAT and challenging in a good way. Each teacher had various talents that I feel have definitely impacted my children's educational foundation in which I am greatful. Mrs. Marrousu was tough but in a good way:-)! I am sad that Ms. Lansing retired as my youngest won't experience her but she was WONDERFUL. Mrs. Apgar - PHENOMENAL and such a gem:-)!! I LOVE that she taught my daughter cursive in the 2nd grade. Mrs. Apgar's cursive is so neat and quality is something that you would expect in a textbook. Because of it and her teaching style - my now 3rd grader has a better cursive handwriting than myself. There were times when my daughter needed a little help. I did my best to explain and support her but there were times where I reached out to Mrs. Apgar with feedback and it was addressed. (Sometimes kids are quiet and or won't identify as not fully understanding which is my youngest daughter case sometimes). Ms. Barris - she has the patience of saint and my daughter (and I ) LOVE HER. I witnessed her interaction during COVID. She didn't miss a bit and I was amazed how she was able to interact and engage with the kids "online" who were in "1st grade". The nurses - I LOVE THEM. They are always so helpful. Mr. K with computers - they love his classes... Mr. Snyder - Amazing!! Love his energy and he is just a GREAT FIT for gym. Mrs. Jones - the music teacher .... Mr. D provided music lessons (guitar and piano) in which the girls just LOVED IT:-)!! All of the staff are just AMAZING... the kids are a good group of kids with parents that see education as an important aspect of their children's lives. I volunteer when I can and these are my experiences and observations.Parent Review1y ago - The Montessori School of Hamilton

The owner was very thorough in the orientation. Our son struggled in the other schools we tried out before coming here. Once he arrived at Montessori he settled quickly and made friends right away. His teacher is very sweet and the staff as well. I highly recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago
