Read what parents are saying about Academy of the Most Blessed SacramentThis school is great, if we are going to be honest, NO SCHOOL IS PERFECT, that unicorn does NOT exist. When I walked in to AMBS 7 years ago, I felt safe, I felt kindness, who doesn't want to have their children in a school where Bullying is NOT tolerated, where children a kind to each other, where prayer partners care for the younger children like their own siblings, where the teachers and principal knows every child by name and every family by name, where our PRIEST is always present to pray with our children and us. This is NOT a place where you feel like a number, or a wallet! Small classrooms and one on one attention are so essential for our children in these critical years. Is there problems? YES. Principals turn over? YES. BUT we have a principal who has been a staple in our school and a wonderful teach who STILL teaches and run a school. Not everyone will love every teacher, not every problem can be resolved publicly. Let's be clear this is a school where families come in at 3 years old and leave at 13 and they stay for a reason and the door is always open to anyone who wants to return . AMBS alumni went on to amazing high schools and Ivy League Colleges, these kids have become Business owners, teachers, lawyers, doctors. AT the end of the day, PARENTS is critical to their children success and that comes from FAITH in the people who care and TEACH our children and the goal is always to work together as a team. IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD, and there is no better village than AMBS, where God, Faith in each other, Love is present.
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2023The school this year(2023) chose not to recognize the valedictorian of the graduating class. The academic awards were based on teacher's preference and not outstanding academic achievement. The school has had significant turnover in the past 3 years changing principals 3 times. Additionally, almost the entire middle school teaching staff was replaced this year. Math lessons would only be taught to the students struggling. Those that were not having difficulty were told to quietly read the math lessons independently . I sent my child to a catholic school expecting that ethics and values are an important part of his experience and education. Instead, the school chose to not address the issue of plagiarism with the seriousness that it deserves. I believe that you will get an equal or better experience in the public school and I deeply regret my decision to send my child to this school.

Posted by a parent on 4/2/2019We have our son in K and our daughter in the preschool... We couldn't be happier! They are both learning so much. Teachers are wonderful, great families and most importantly a very safe environment with long standing traditions.
Posted by a parent on 4/1/2015The Academy of The Most Blessed Sacrament is a great school. Excellent faculty, strong curriculum and small classes. Everyone is made to feel they are a person and very much a part of the school however big or small they are. The older children partner up with the younger children for church and for other activities and really care for them. You become part of the family of this school and grow with it. This all happens because we have a great principal who tries her best to pull it all together. Yes, its not a perfect school, but neither is the world. For me, I feel confident my children will be safe, secure and well educated every morning they walk through the school doors.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school used to be very good and it used to feel like family. But, now the overall experience has deteriorated. The only thing school really cares about is money and how to get more money from parent's pockets. We had a bad experience where they started charging us for AM and PM care randomly for being 1 or 2 minutes late or early. When we tried to explain that the timestamps appear to be made up(which they were - I had proof), they just charged us anyway(without authorization).Following is what I observed in being ~4 years with the school:1. They find new ways of getting money from parents.2. Their fast track program($100 per month) is a waste. When the teacher of this program left, the school didn't inform the parents about it and kept charging us.3. Even the tution director who does the billing doesn't know the correct buffer pick or drop times for the parents. These buffer times changed when I exchanged emails with her. Earlier it was said that it's 10 minutes for morning but later this was changed to 15 minutes in the same email thread.(looks like a scam to me)Their payment system has been designed to make holes in parent's pockets:1. There is no free AM or PM care, and buffer times vary based on whom you ask.2. During covid they did close classrooms for weeks, but we as parents never asked for refund. They should have at least brought it up. We kept our kids home and never said that we need money back for services we never got.3. Fast track classes are charged $100 per month. Why would you charge for extra class when it should be available for every kid paying the monthly tuition.I can't give less than 1, but if they keep going on this path then parents like us will keep leaving this school.Stars for the management : 0Parent Review1y ago - Apple Montessori School of Oakland
