Posted by a parent on 7/10/2019Teachers are dedicated but appear stressed. Current principal is not trustworthy. My child was supposed to receive services and never did. School is a blue ribbon school currently but this seems to be due to the teachers and the past administrator.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm writing to express extreme disappointment and concern about my experience with Elmwood Park Middle School's registration process for my niece. A staff member visited my home unannounced to verify address information, entering private areas of my residence without an adult present. This egregious breach of privacy was alarming, especially since it involved access to personal spaces, including my daughter's room.Furthermore, when my daughter, who has a medical condition, needed to use the bathroom during school hours, she was denied access despite providing a medical note. This lack of accommodation was distressing and unacceptable.I demand that the school review and rectify these issues to ensure respect for students' and families' privacy and needs. The school also collaborates with the officer to maintain school security. The rules are very good and in the 3 years my child has been at school, there has not been a single problem. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is by far the worst school. Stay away, your child will not be safe here. My son was getting bullied in front of my very own eyes in the school playground as my child was standing first in line this other kid came pushed and shoved my kid back and made him cry, the person in charge of the children in the playground didn't even do a thing. After I approached the lady to advise her of what was going on she got really nasty and said do not confront the other child. Which I never did because I went straight up to her. After I went in to the principal office I met up with my child teacher and what she had to say was YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO DEFEND HIMSELF because this is not the first time this happens....as a mother I was furious and disgusted this was not the response a parent is looking for from his/her child teacher when your child is getting bullied.
