St Mary Of The Assumption High School

St. Mary's is a small educational facility dedicated to the Catholic faith, while instilling a sense of family orientation among students and staff. St. Mary's is small enough that you know everyone's first and last name. Yet, big enough to provide the tools that students need to succeed. I highly recommend St. Mary's as a stepping stone towards higher education.

This school is no different than any other Urban public High School in the surrounding area. It is actually worse because parents are paying. There is no "diversity" in the student population. Above 85% out of 100% of anything does not =the definition of diverse. Parents please save your $. St. Mary's and the Arch Diocese are just stealing it. They advertise "the most affordable" for a reason. You get what you pay for. It is a "Catholic" school with 200 students. What is their "college acceptance rate"? And average SAT/ACT Scores? A Senior class of maybe 50?

Should have been shut down @ least 10yrs ago. Strange how the Arch Dioceses make choices.

This is a very good school at a very reasonable tuition. The school has a very strong teacher retention rate. There is also a good mixture of young and old teachers as well as male & female. Class sizes range from 10-25 with the average being about 18) The school has about 250 students total which is great because students don't feel lost. They are able to get individual attention when needed or extra help after/during school. It's like a small family. The students are from all different backgrounds and that is something that makes this school unique. All the sports programs are Varsity level which is great experience and exposure. However, the student-athletes know that school ALWAYS comes first. Unlike some of the other schools. It also has a lot of history in Elizabeth. Even the Mayor attended St. Mary's.
