Read what parents are saying about Valleyview Middle SchoolTerrible! My kids have attended schools in three states over the past 18 years and I can definitively state that Denville has the worst school system I’ve ever encountered. The people who like it are people who have lived here their entire lives and don’t know things could be better for their kids. It’s a travesty.

Posted by a community member on 10/28/2015When I went from elementary school to valleyview my grades dropped from straight A's to low B's and C's. As soon as I left valley view and went to high school my grades went right back to straight A's! The teaching style at VV was very poor. There was very little differentiated instruction and the teachers conducted a negative environment for their students.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLong time resident and parent of special ed student. Fair warning that the program here is outdated and your kid may be isolated and ashamed. My kid hates going to school because he misses out on anything fun. Teachers are great overall but administration and special ed staff are unwilling to make improvements. They say that it's a small district so it is what it is. Everyone's afraid of the principal including the teachers. IMO very poor school climate plus they don't engage parents so nothing changes. It's a shame because this used to be a great school years ago.Parent Review1y ago - Mustard Seed Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing this anonymously, from my home account.I am in the middle school (6-8 grade) and I've been in this school for over 4 years. They have a lot of activities and are very interactive. Its an overall fun experience.Throughout that time I've had changing opinions about my experience here. While I was in the younger grades the teachers were very accommodating. I had a very short attention span and they would get my attention when I would drift off. Also I was able to move my seat to the front if I ever needed toThere is only 1 main problem I have.1: The Spanish teacher. The Spanish teacher is very short tempered. She once had us throw away a container of wipes because she "didn't like the smell". She also exaggerates way too much. I've seen a small amount of the class being rowdy and when the teacher comes back, she said "All of the boys were being rude and were very, disrespectful". Also she doesn't teach much, all that she had taught is just a repetition of what we learned in 4th grade. We are farther back in our studies then most public schools. There are other small problems I have but they aren't worth mentioning. Over all this school was a great experience and I would recommendStudent Review2y ago - St Mary's Prep
