Read what parents are saying about South End Elementary SchoolSouth End is a gem of a school with a wonderful, highly engaged community of parents.
Posted by a parent on 7/2/2019My son attends this school. I like the principal. She is very friendly and knowledgeable and the teachers are great but I am disappointed with the special services that are offered. My son has a learning disability and I feel they are not doing enough for him. They want to send him out of district instead of offering him what he needs in district. It will cost the school and the tax payers a lot of money to send him out of district. It would be more cost effective to keep him in district and supply him with what he needs. My son is not a behavioral issue at all so it would be so easy for Cedar Grove to hire a resource teacher to give him the extra academic support he needs. Not only would my son benefit from it but so would other children in the district with learning disabilities. And it would save the school money. I am just so frustrated with this town. It almost seems like they don't want to deal with Special Ed. students. They rather spend more money shipping them off to another district or special school. If your child is an average or smart student then this school and town are great but unfortunately they need to improve their special services.
Posted by a parent on 5/26/2016My two kids currently attend this school and I must say we are very happy overall. The teachers are excellent as is the principal. They are easily accessible and always willing to help.
Posted by a parent on 6/18/2014Caring and well-trained teachers. I'm especially impressed with the level of creativity in the area of art and music and the skill and imagination displayed in the subsequent output of the students.
Posted by a parent on 12/22/2012Though I am nor judge or jury, we live in a great town. South End School as well as North End School are great schools...They should both come together and work as One! ....having a better system for children with special needs is one that I am voting fore...Oh and let's work on passing the vote for uniforms....pleaseeeeee

However, after checking this website, I felt that I must share my experience and provide a heartfelt review of St. Cassian School. As a parent, I have had the privilege of being a part of this exceptional educational institution, and I am truly impressed by the dedication, quality of education, and overall learning environment provided at St. Cassian School.St. Cassian School prioritizes academic excellence by fostering a challenging yet supportive learning environment. The curriculum is great! It’s designed to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The school consistently achieves outstanding academic results. At St. Cassian, education goes beyond textbooks. They offer extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, music, and community service. Students can participate in Choral Music, Musical Theater, Bell Ensemble. Last year, the students played Frozen Musical in collaboration with Bergen PAC, it was outstanding!! They also have additional activities like Mini Model Program, Mock trial, Robotics, etc.The teachers are highly qualified; they try to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, tailoring their teaching methods accordingly. They combine the curriculum with Arts and technology to make learning more interesting, fun, and engaging. The technology is top-notch! Every class has a smart board, and each student has an iPad or a chrome book, depending on the grade. Students have access to the paper copy of their books as well as the online version (nobody wants to carry the huge heavy paper books every day!)They have regular parent-teacher meetings, and many school activities that create a supportive network where parents are actively engaged in their child's education. The community is wonderful! Not just the kids make friends at St. Cassian School, parents do too!In conclusion, St. Cassian school is an outstanding educational institution that excels in every aspect. It provides students with a well-rounded education and prepares them for the challenges of the future. The supportive faculty, state-of-the-art activities, parent-teacher collaboration, and wonderful community, enhance the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend St. Cassian School to any parent seeking a nurturing and excellent educational environment for their kids.Parent Review3mo ago - Lacordaire Academy
