Sunapee Middle High School

As a broadly educated parent, I am deeply disappointed with the faculty. The academic dean and some teachers make suggestions as if they were medical doctors or compare students with one another. Children grow like a variety of flowers, each in their own time. Teachers’ homeschooling experience does not always match the skills or certifications needed to teach reading, writing, or math - essential alongside their Catholic formation. The lack of a library or proper reading books is a downside. Some tests contain errors or use fancy fonts difficult to read for students and parents, and undergrading seems common. Books for younger children are not always age-appropriate, and learning through fun is often overlooked. Some student behavior is out of control during quiet time, while others are too afraid to speak because it is not allowed.
