Northwood Elementary School

Great experience. 1 child has gone through all levels and one that is in middle school. No complaints.

The administration at this school runs it like a prison. Outside consultants were brought in to help it do better and prevent bullying, among other things. They found the administration was what needed to change, so the consultants were fired.

Two years here and I have no complaints with staff or academics.

There is one particular school board member who for some reason constantly shoots down the school.( even though his children all went there and he has a family member who works there) There is a majority of great teachers and well informed sp educators The new administration is outstanding in holding staff and students accountable for their actions and following all rules as set by the school board. WOW one or two negative voices with nothing to do all day but be negative can sure have a lasting effect on the towns perspective

Most of the previous negative comments seem to be referencing issues from the prior administration, or issues created by the school board that have been put on the current administration to solve or implement. Having had children at the school for the past 10 years, I have dealt with most of the faculty and administrators in some capacity. There are many excellent teachers and some that need to retire - like any school. Like others who have left comments, I also was not impressed with the previous administration, but there has been a complete change in that area and I have been very satisfied with the current AP for all concerns that I have had to bring to her attention. I feel Northwood is now an excellent school, and could be even better if the school board would stay out of it!
