Bicentennial Elementary School

We have been fortunate to not experience the negativity some of the reviewers have expressed To be honest, I was very surprised to read about their experience. Our daughter has thrived at this school. Shes been there for 5 years. It's a small school run by genuine people who come to treat you more like family. Their door is always open, and they are receptive to the needs of the child and of the family. She has thrived academically and it's been amazing to see this once incredibly shy little girl "come out of her shell". She is creative, intelligent, kind, compassionate, nurturing and LOVES going to school. She laments when school is canceled due to snow. This alone says so much about her experience.

My child had a good experience here in preschool and early elementary school, but starting in upper elementary and middle school, something really seemed to go wrong. I'm not sure if it was necessarily the grade transitions or the constantly changing administration, but it appears to be the latter.They handle their lack of consistency and supervision by singling out kids who struggle. Once Dr. Dias or one of the principals decides your child is a problem, they are put under a microscope and are punished for any perceived transgression. I've been outright lied to about things he'd said and had the real story verified by classmates who did the same thing at the same time and did not get into trouble. I'd been assured that they would work with me on accommodating his learning disability, but after fourth grade was met with stonewalling and inconsistency. They would lie about dispensing his medication and rarely gave it to him despite knowing that it would affect his afternoon behavior and performance. Then complain about his afternoon behavior and performance. And one month after being told that everything was great and he was doing so well, suddenly they couldn't accommodate him anymore and after being there for his entire lifetime, and us spending over 100k on tuition since daycare, he was told to leave and couldn't even be bothered to tell him themselves. A couple weeks before he was asked to leave, Dr. Dias also told him how in public school nobody would care about him and he wouldn't be safe, and he had come home in tears. So great job, there. I also won't get into their computer security, but if you have children there, use a Windows machine and use the Family Safety feature with Microsoft Edge and block Chrome, because they neither provide sufficient supervision or sufficient network restrictions to protect your kids, and they don't want to hear any suggestions to the contrary.
