My kids love their school. That's the most important!
Posted by a parent on 2/19/2020School is overcrowded with up to 38 eighth graders in one class. Textbooks are in terrible condition. The Board of Mayor and Alderman do not consider education to be a priority. The per-pupil funding is the second lowest in the state. Not acceptable for the largest district in the state.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe transferred in in October of 2024 from a lackluster experience at another school. Mrs Welch and the Principal Mr Beaulac immediately calmed our concerns and fears. I cannot say enough good things about Mrs. Welch in the Kindergarten class, I will be surprised if we ever have a teacher as good and passionate as her again. She has helped develop our child leaps and bounds over the last school year, and we're so thankful we made the switch. The entire school is warm, inviting, understanding, and truly wants every child to succeed even if they need some accommodations to do so. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far, and my child is only in Kindergarten so I can't say anything about the rest of school, there have been things that have been pleasantly surprising, and other things I've been pretty disappointed about. Best parts: diverse student body, caring teachers, very involved principal. Worst parts: kids seem to watch a LOT of TV in all their specials classes, resources seem scarce, the pickup/dropoff thing is so scattered and seems really disorganized.Parent Review6y ago - Weston School
