They just aren't strong on academics. Seem more focused on mental health issues. We moved our kids to private school and had to work very hard to catch them up to where they should have been.

We have an amazing dedicated teaching staff and fantastic administrators! This school is committed to helping all children learn in a kind and caring environment. Communication between families and school is always emphasized. The PTA is very active and supportive to staff. Our new principal is knowledgeable, caring and always available. I would like my children to attend this school; it is one of the very best in Manchester!

As a staff member, I am truly embarrassed to have any association with this school or district. I have no idea why anyone would choose to live in Manchester and send their children to schools like Parker-Varney. This city and this building will try anything to get the test scores up immediately (dump money into Chromebooks, Ipads) except, you know, hire enough teachers to keep class sizes down, or hire enough paraprofessionals to keep behaviors from special needs/behavior needs students from disrupting the entire classroom. This is also a school that for years, no matter who the principal is, seems to hire new staff members based on personal biases. Student teachers are selected for positions over certified teachers with actual experience. And a startling number of classroom teachers simply do not know how to teach, or just cannot be bothered to, and waste quite a bit of time with witch hunts and vendettas against other people in the building. After years of seeing this school in action, I would never send my kids here. This school is unsafe. Dangerous behaviors are not addressed and allowed to fester and escalate. There are very few opportunities for student growth. Run away!

The two reasons I didn't give one star are that my daughter, for the most part, has enjoyed her time there during pre-K, summer camp, and most of K. The other reason is the school is flexible with late pickups. They allow you to call during the day before dismissal and will extend care until you arrive.That said, my daughter was playing on the playground with two boys, one of which was laying on the ground and kick my daughter in her private parts. When we approached the co-directors about it, they initially wanted to move my daughter to another group, rather than the kid who kicked her (and her friend). We said, and they confirmed the boy who kicked would be moved. Fast forward two days later, and they decided not to move anyone around and use this as a "teachable moment." Needless to say, we were not very happy with how they handled this situation, and they seemed to brush off the immediate and long term effects of this incident. And now, we don't feel comfortable with our daughter going there.As we read through their behavior policy, they remarked at how they want to include parents on the problem-solving team for unacceptable behavior incidents. Well, we gave them some suggestions on how to solve this problem and they refused to accept or suggest any options or modifications. All they said was pretty much they will continue to do what they have been doing. Well, it seems like what they are doing isn't working if my ddaughter is getting kicked on the playground outside and she can't even get an apology from the kid.

Teachers are sexist and do not know how to treat kids when a boy does something they get in trouble but when a girl does something they get in no trouble at all Do not recommend this school at all

My children were very happy going to this school, but I was not, so it really depends on how comfortable you are with not being “close” to your childrens’ caretakers
