Columbian Elementary School

Unfortunately growing up without a father made me resent the days where students dads could come and spend the whole day at the school, and unfortunately as a child with mental health problems, being punished for them instead of being heard made this elementary school difficult to go through. I was a new student when I was 9, and left the school at 11. I was young for my grade and definitely needed some extra help. UNFORTUNATELY having a mean and disrespectful principal did not help any of that . I used the word unfortunately a lot because this school definitely has potential but does not reach it and will not without new staff and new admin.

This administration at the school (front office) is poorly ran. This woman is not a natural born leader. She barks orders, instead of leads. The principal is a nightmare to work for as she is doesn't understand a community of teachers and grace when it comes to her employees. As far as how she handles students, I've seen 1st hand the unknowing, blatant, unaware racism she isn't aware she shows to specific students. This woman is data driven crazy woman who looks at students and staff as just numbers and never gets to really know her staff. However, Millard will not do anything because this woman is on her way out anyway (thank the lord). Be wary when sending your kid or applying to this school.

My children have attended Catlin since 2018 and it is the best school in OPS!! Classroom sizes are small which is great for learning! Students began learning the violin in second grade, band is offered in 5th grade and chorus. The PTA is very engaged and create fun family events creating a sense of community at Catlin. Catlin is a small school with the biggest heart, best teachers staff and support for students and families!

My daughter has participated in the dual language program at Crestridge Elementary since kindergarten, and she is now in 5th grade. Her educational experience has been exceptional, and she's benefited from becoming fluent in Spanish while building skills and knowledge in several cultures. We would not trade her broad exposure and opportunity to learn from others - Crestridge provides a unique, multicultural experience that is comprehensive and delivered by dedicated staff.

We love SRB! The teachers, principal and staff are so welcoming and helpful! We have 4 kids and they all have different academic needs and personalities. St Roberts has adjusted to each one of them and they have all been able to be successful! We feel they are being very well prepared for attending private high schools in the near future.

Wonderful environment, excellent teachers and I absolutely adore the new owner. My children attend (from infant) and it is the absolute best investment I have ever made.
