Adams Central Elementary School

Small rural school with BIG values. Being small and rural doesn't mean the school is lacking in technology, with white boards, and Apple computers in the computer lab, many of those items are funded by the hard working PTO. Who works hard to find anyway to fund the school, and make it better for the children. There is a single classroom for each grade. For 90 minutes in the morning and in the afternoon the children are broken up onto groups based on their abilities, not grade to practice grammar, reading and language arts. IT is truly amazing. The principal is hands on as well as the rest of the staff, they stress integrity from day one of the children being in Kindergarten. After a couple of years of having a child attending, I can see why this school was so highly recommended. One if not the best in the area, in my opinion.

As a Grandmother, I have nothing but praise for your school. Your teachers exhibited exemplary skills and classroom management. I am a Paraeducator in another elementary school in Nebraska, and wish that every student could have the opportunity to experience the excellence in education that Hawthorne and your teachers provide. Congratulations for excellence in education!!! Keep up the great work!

St. Michael's school is great. The best in Hastings. Class sizes are small, all classrooms have smart boards, expectations are clear and consistent, parents are very involved and help out wherever they can. Teachers really care about developing the whole child. Moral development is as important as academic development and this is a critical age (age 5-10) to lay that foundation. I cannot say enough good things about this small gem of a school!
