Not so long ago this was the top rated elementary school in Catawba County. Say what you like about the wonderful teachers, leadership programs etc… the test scores and improvement numbers don’t lie. Typical public school nowadays.

South Newton is an amazing school that embraces the students, and creates a leader out of each and every student who walks through the doors. The staff is also wonderful. Teachers are helpful and prepare the students for the EOG's. This school is truly the best school ever!

Since this school became a Leader in Me school, students are taking ownership over their learning and actions. This school is like a family. The school has strong leadership, and they are using their new school space constructively to provide opportunities for all students.

South Newton has adopted "The Leader in Me" school philosophy. We have seen tremendous growth in the students' behavior and academic achievement. Students are encouraged to develop good leadership skills as they work to reach their fullest potential. I would definitely put my children at South Newto
