Hodge Road Elementary

My child was bullied by a student and a teacher of a third grade class. The principal took months to do a so-called investigation where the conclusion was that my child did the same things to the bully that the bully did to them. The letter was back-dated to a month before it was actually sent to us meaning that sat on the letter that long. The teacher told the children at the beginning of the year not to taddle-tale on each other or they'd get in trouble. The teacher also isolated my child and moved them to a different class' table for lunch without consulting us when we reported the bullying.

Lockhart is a wonderful school! The teachers are experienced, and can handle all kinds of students. Principal Zoller is very supportive of the teachers, and communicates well with parents. My child has some social/behavior issues, and has thrived there. Her teachers have taken our input seriously in the classroom, and given us great suggestions things we can do at home. She has lots of friends now, and is doing well academically and socially. Because of how the classes are structured, kids can do advanced work in the subjects they excel in, and get help in subjects they struggle with every day in their classroom, so they aren't singled out by going to special classes. They take bullying seriously, and work with the parents to resolve problems as they arise, rather than ignoring them until they get out of hand. Like most schools in this area it's diverse, which we love!

This school is a complete joke. No structure, a lack of effective strategies, and more.It's like roaches, what I witnessed this morning they look just like roaches scattering yelling and pushing and fighting and acting belligerent these are elementary kids y'all. And the teachers sitting or standing there with her hand on her chin she didn't get up until she seen me watching. Definitely the type of teachers that are only there for a paycheck and hopefully I can get my child transferred out of this school because I think it's not a good school. I think it causes what may be a good child to maybe have a not so good experience because of the environment that I seen today iand many other days. Almost daily I'm getting a report of something where my child is misbehaving but from what I seen today this school is definitely a majority of the problem. I sent the principal notifications of my child coming home saying that they was hit and no teacher contacted me I reached out to the principal and got no responses and this was after 3 or 4 times that I had already spoke to the principal and was promised that it would never happen again and it has happened several times. Horrible school
