Northwood Elementary School

There are things that happen at Oak View that are covered up. Parents are made to believe there’s a teacher in the classroom but, in fact, the kids are being “taught” by rotating TAs or subs. Turnover has been horrible for the last 2-3 years. Teachers forced out based on whether they are “liked” or not. There are actually some really great teachers at the school, those who have been there for while, but many of the teachers are new to the school, which. Isn’t good for the kids.

Horrible school, it gets no worse than this school they truly deserve half of a star and that’s only because you cannot 0 star it!

I’ve recently moved to High Point,Nc. And looked into this school through their website, and I was really pleased. Although that quickly shut down after my daughter stumbled upon a racist video against African Americans. This was set up in the cafeteria room where the African American student is seen to be whipped on a phone app. The student is visibly uncomfortable too. This is disgusting behavior and I have yet to hear from Principal Walker. Even though I have emailed her on this serious issue. My daughter is adopted and she is an African American, and I would love for her to grow up in a Christian environment. This is not showing any of the traits HPCA claims to have. Absolutely distasteful for a Christian school to turn a blind eye on racism.

Throughout the school year, my child was physically harmed by another student. We'll received notifications about what was done to my child; however, the troubled student was able to return to school thereafter. We ask for resolution, unfortunately it continued to happen and the staff superiors didn't have protocols in place to keep my child safe or feel safe.

I will admit, I have not been to this school but I have had friends who go here and I have visited for activities. As a supporter of lgbtq and equal rights, I felt very uncomfortable. I have nothing against Christians and I may sort of believe in god, but I did not enjoy when they had us pray before an activity. The kids seemed polite, but I can read people well and I could tell it was an act. Did not enjoy as a person standing from the sidelines, but maybe others will like it.

I’m a current student here and ima just be honest I’m not trying to come at this school but this school is horrible the environment is so toxic we got people over here talking about you to the whole class on literally your first day the TEACHERS literally say your business I mean come on I’ve been the public school and this is so much worse obviously the people that been coming for this school for years will disagree cause they are used to this and they all got there lil crew. Not to mention this very strict rules and agin the teachers will get on to you for asking “too many questions” they really don’t have the patience once to say your business your gonna here it form everyone. I wouldn’t recommend this school lowkey brings me down everyday I feel depressed for being here.
