Read what parents are saying about Clyde Campbell Elementary SchoolI personally attended this school as a child and now that we have moved back to the area I looked into this school for my own children. I have been extremely pleased with both the teachers and administrative staff at this school. They are caring and genuinely concerned about not only the educational progress but the general well-being of the children in their care. I'm glad our children have the chance to attend this school.
Posted by a parent on 3/28/2019My two sons went through Clyde Campbell. They loved it and both went on to 3.75+ GPA in High School. I've read some of the negative reviews and a great many seem to be from parents who moved from out of State. I remember having problems adjusting to this small town after moving here from Seattle, but those home-town values gradually take on a deeper meaning if you give them a chance and I found myself moving back here after a regrettable 3 year foray into Florida.
Posted by a parent on 7/31/2018Worst experience I ever had with a school. We moved here from out of state to find the school was not as advanced as the school my child previously attened. Then the princepal calls me to tell me I have to come in and talk to him about my son. I had a 101.3 fever and the seine flu was going around. Made it sound serious like my son was in a huge amount of trouble but insisted on talking to me in person. So i drag myself with a fever to the school to be told that my son lied about something so insignificant that I pulled him out of school and moved back east. I have stopped many friends and family from moving in that area and I advise others to heed my warning.
Posted by a parent on 12/2/2017We know NC has one of the lowest teacher's pay, and is ranked 3rd from the bottom in the entire US. What a shame. Parents have sympathy for the teachers, and we expect the state and district to provide support, encouragement, and printed published educational resources for every subject, and every child, not just online resources. But we also expect teachers to be held accountable for their work.
Posted by a parent on 7/22/2017I put four children through Clyde Campbell. I was also the treasurer for the PTO for three years. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Teachers, the Staff, and the community was during that time. We had a very high Parent participation during the 8 years that my children attended. I am a Real Estate Agent, and moved into a home within walking distance of the school so my children could go there. I was never disappointed. I still tell clients how much I loved this school.

Everyday the kids come back home with huge smiles on their face ready to tell me all about their day. From Mrs. Kelly Clark making sure every student is on track or asking if the kids are okay if their out of school or just seeing her sweet smile everyday in the car line she is a phenomenal teacher! Another teacher that we had this year is Mrs. Cheryl Wallace she is such a sweet lady and also has a kind spirit! Miss. Riley who is such a a great fine arts teacher but sad to see her leave this year I know my high school students will miss her! Miss. Kari Norton has really helped my high school children not only in academics but also spiritually she is a God led lady and a kind and sweet spirit! Dr. Hawthorn was my children’s pre- algebra teacher this year and he really was a great teacher he pushed my daughter to try as hard as she could and without his help I doubt she would have passed. The new principal has went over and beyond the 22/23 school year he was so involved with the students this year from doing the Murfe training to the big day in the field. He has really maintained the school this year from the grounds tho the safety of the school. I am over and beyond grateful for this school they have left a huge impression on my children and on me that really are a GOD loving school.
