My son is currently special need student and he started Pre-K about a year ago at that school. The teacher was “OK” she was unprofessional in communication & made me feel like I was annoying her when I was simply trying to make sure my son was ok since he started biting his nails really bad and was trying to make sure he had those accommodations. The teacher even told me once that she knew my son more than me which made me feel upset she was very stubborn lady stuck to her ways. The environment itself was not too bad but there was a lot of tension from staff and rudeness at times. I let my son stay there because I knew I was moving . They also talk to the kids rudely and expect for pre-k kids to know almost everything not a positive experience for a pre-k child that’s being introduced to education. Unprofessional and ghetto. My son started kindergarten at a different school and the difference is from day to Night. My son was scared of school because of this school and now he loves his school . I would say I understand that schools aren’t perfect but university meadows has a long way to go. Very disappointing .

I've had four children at Harrisburg Elementary since 2018, and I'm about to have a fifth child there this next school year. I cannot say enough good things about this school! The administration is absolutely fantastic. Communication is a breeze, there's a lot of opportunity for parent involvement. My kids have great things to say about their teachers and their peers. The curriculum is challenging, several of my children participate in the AIG advanced program. My ADHD child had great teachers who poured into him, and the administration took great care to make sure we had a 504 plan in place. The security at the school is great! Officer Carter is onsite everyday and he greets all the children as they arrive! This school is truly a blessing to our family, we have never had a discouraging interaction!
