Webb Street School

The teachers and administration have been wonderful during our transition to a new school. They have had events to engage the families and students. One of my children really struggled with his last school and couldn’t pass his end of grade testing. This year he has excelled in the classroom and is on track to pass his eog. The prior reviews may have been accurate but it is not the experience we have had. It’s only our first year here but we hope to continue to have good experience and that the school has the ability to turn around the negatives.

The school does draw from low income areas of the district; therefore there isn’t as much parent involvement or support. Behavioral issues are an issue but the school is good at handling them so that other students are able to learn. The current Principal is great, and the staff seems to be well connected. It’s a very large school and considering that the school seems to run smoothly. There are some very dedicated teachers at Pleasant Ridge, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

This school honestly needs to shut down. They close after-school care 10 days before school not even thinking about how parents can get there from their jobs! I'm close to losing my job because we moved in the middle of the school year and my kids have to be Uber drove back and forth while they still have nerve to be asking me for money for school events. The staff is not helpful when you run late to get your child. They don't care that you're a single parent, the interim principal flat out refused to help me and my children and it's the last week of school! Ugh! So happy to NEVER deal with those trash folks anymore, GOOD RIDDANCE!

Absolutely worst school ever. If you care about your child being safe, do not enroll them in this school at all. They don't care which is why they keep an F rating.

St. Michael Catholic School in Gastonia, NC is an exceptional PK-8 school that provides a well-rounded and comprehensive education. As a parent of multiple children who attend the school, I have been extremely pleased with the quality of education they receive. The school facilities are well-maintained, and the staff is very supportive and responsive. I couldn't be happier with the education my children are receiving and the overall experience at St. Michael Catholic School. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for an exceptional Catholic education for their child in Gaston County.
