Southwest Elementary

We have been at this school for 3 years and it truly is a great school. Teachers and staff are great and very helpful. They want to see every child succeed. Dr. Brewington and Mr. Breedlove go above and beyond for their staff and students. So happy my daughter is able to attend this school. Also great PTA.

We just moved here Aug 2024, my two boys started kindergarten and 4th grade here and this school is wonderful. The teachers, principal, vice principal and staff are all lovely. It’s not always easy to move away and start again at a new school but LES made the transition feel easy. We are very grateful!

This School is disgraceful. They let my 6 year old grandson go without food!!! I’m sure if he was White this would not of happened.

After Sister Geri retired, the heart and soul of the school left with her. The once welcoming, inclusive environment is now unaccommodating and cold. Students with disabilities do not receive accommodations in middle school and many children are academically left behind without remediation. I would absolutely not recommend this school.

There was a few things I was looking for in a private school for my kids. 1. Small class sizes 2. Christian based 3. Affordable 4. Quality education This school has checked these boxes for me. Anytime I’ve had a concern, it’s been resolved. My child is in a lower grade and still, every teacher acknowledges him in the hallways and greets him by name. This is a close knit school. Teachers are kind and educated. The school could use some updating but from the research I’ve done, they’re one of the cheapest private schools in the WS area so it doesn’t bother me. As a previous review mentioned they are doing fundraisers often but I don’t consider that a bad thing. I think it’s a good way to get parents involved in the school. Any parent invested in their child’s education is willing to help a teacher or school out in my opinion.

As a current high school senior who joined as a freshman, this school has given me everything. When I first walked into the building for orientation, I was met by student council members, teachers, and admin who greeted me with enthusiasm. Many of them I am still friends with today. I will never forget leaving to go to the bowling alley and everyone congratulating me at the bowling alley after orientation. On the first day, I didn't sit alone. A student council member I met invited me to come sit with his friends at lunch. These people I met have poured themselves into supporting me in my personal life. All of my sports, academics (including late night study help), and spiritual life. The chapels have genuinely brought me closer to Christ and I have a deeper understanding for worship. Shout out to Mr. Wade and Mr. Floyd for leading me to help in service, especially with operation Christmas child every year. Through Calvary, I am prepared for college by Mrs. Eppley's diligent work and I have a firm foundation by each teacher because they consistently incorporate God into lessons. Because of Calvary, I am equipped as head of the student council, captain of the varsity XC, Swim, and Track teams. Calvary has prepared me in my future career and a believer who leads others to Christ
