I find the staff to be very affective and involved in each child's education. My child attends this school and she is very excited about learning, loves her teachers and has awesome school pride.

I am not one to write reviews but I am feed up with this school. The staff seems like they do not want to be there at all. Not all of them but the majority. There is no sense of fun at all. Isn't school supposed to be fun. That's what we tell our children. The teaching aspect is ok

Powhatan has excellent test scores, but I believe that parents contribute to that success because they put in a lot of effort at home and in the community here. My sons 3rd grade teacher is demeaning to the kids in her class. This is the 1st year that my son has dreaded going to school everyday. There is zero consequences for students that bully others. And most of the teachers "never see anything happening". The school talks about kindness but doesn't teach it or follow through with it.
