Vaughan Academy of Technology

My son is currently special need student and he started Pre-K about a year ago at that school. The teacher was “OK” she was unprofessional in communication & made me feel like I was annoying her when I was simply trying to make sure my son was ok since he started biting his nails really bad and was trying to make sure he had those accommodations. The teacher even told me once that she knew my son more than me which made me feel upset she was very stubborn lady stuck to her ways. The environment itself was not too bad but there was a lot of tension from staff and rudeness at times. I let my son stay there because I knew I was moving . They also talk to the kids rudely and expect for pre-k kids to know almost everything not a positive experience for a pre-k child that’s being introduced to education. Unprofessional and ghetto. My son started kindergarten at a different school and the difference is from day to Night. My son was scared of school because of this school and now he loves his school . I would say I understand that schools aren’t perfect but university meadows has a long way to go. Very disappointing .

I USED to be in this school in Kindergarten before, and what I think about this school is straight up bad. My teacher just gets me in trouble for nothing. One time, I left my packet at home, and I thought when I tell her, I could get another one since saw a lot of empty packets in her HAND, but she got me in trouble for not having it. In fact, we were THE ONLY KINDERGARTEN CLASS IN THE SCHOOL, so there was no reason not to give me one since we were not switching or anything. I don't even call the teaching motivating though. I never used to think much about it until now. I recommend TMSA Charlotte, since it teaches great leadership using Leader in Me. It also has a class individually for Exceptional students, pep rallies for classes who will take the EOG, and Clubs every Friday. My teachers always ask how they can help when our class is unmotivated to learn. I also improved a lot ever since I moved to this school. In fact, I'm the 2nd smartest kid in our class!

Worst school ever! Very bad experience , horrible teachers and administrators

This school really helped me in becoming agnostic, lol. I was a quiet kid who just wanted to mind my own business and graduate. The principal was a perfect example of a micromanager. She would notice that I was sitting alone at lunch and emailed my mother about how “concerned” she was of this. It was something that came up a handful of times and she made me out to be a problem. I’m honestly content being myself a majority of the time. Society acts like introverts are some foreign creature, haha. I actually never had trouble making friends in public school. Some kids at this school would befriend me to get brownie points and then ditch shortly after. I did end up finding out from one of the students that some people were talking behind my back, saying that I was a brown person who was going to shoot up the school. I’m a female and I had short hair at the time and I have olive skin. The school does give off some heavy Republican vibes. Not shocking, but they didn’t hide it too well. I went there for nine months and my mom couldn’t wait to get me out of there. Went back to public school and I sat outside by myself at lunch and administration didn’t care what I was doing. It was great. :) Anyways, enjoy the tea on this wretched school.
