Providence Day School

I am sorry I ever sent my children to this school. One was never involved in sports, extremely smart, and very bored with the curriculum. He received bad grades because he was wasn't challenged at school that was so heavily geared towards sports. When he learned what elective courses his cousins were taking at another Charlotte private school, he was jealous. He didn't tell me any of this until he graduated, which just hurts my heart. I wish I had known.My other child had depression and anxiety issues during and after the pandemic and while the middle school counselor was incredible, some of the teachers showed no compassion which only compounded his anxiety. Administration was not helpful and did not care. We left and went to a different school where he is much happier.I can't say I recommend this place. While we did have some truly wonderful and caring teachers, we also had others--and they were the ones that seemed to have been there for YEARS--that were unkind and unhelpful to the students who either weren't involved in athletics or had parents that were rich/famous.I wish I had sent my kids to a different school.

Charlotte Prep was the very first school our family ever attended, and it set the bar incredibly high. From the start, we felt so welcomed and supported. The teachers really care about the kids, not just academically but also as people, and that made such a difference for us.Our child grew so much here, both socially and academically, thanks to the small classes and nurturing environment. We always left with peace of mind knowing our child was safe, happy, and learning. Charlotte Prep gave us the perfect start, and we’ll always be grateful for that experience.
