Brown Summit Middle School

Personally, I didn't like the coding program there and they didn't do much python so I would say it isn't a very good school. L school canterburys better. Many noncoders there tho so stay clean #BROWSUMMIT #HOUROFCODE

Great school! Overall wonderful experience. BSMS is small enough that the students and staff are accountable to one another. What stands out to me at BSMS is the excitement and respect that the majority of all students and teachers show for learning.

It's a good school. But, if you're black or African American you may feel some sort of discomfort and you will most likely be profiled by one of the students. Staff at this school doesn't care one but if someone uses a racial slur against you, if anything they will say it was your fault.

This overall a great school. I love most of the teachers but there are a few that make me feel hurt. Who I'm talking about is the 8th grade teachers. If you are not in 8th grade you will be treated with disrespect and meanness, it has been this way since my first day of 6th grade. Also the dress code is very strict here. No you do not have that crazy thing where it's like however many inches above your knee, but we do have the fingertip rule for shorts, skirts, and dresses. I don't like this rule because I feel that, that is a very universal rule and does not fit everyone's needs. For example my fingertips when by my side are almost to my knees. Shorts that long aren't made, those are called capris. I have one shorts once in my entire middle school career. That was on the first friday of my 6th grade year, I got dress coded because they were one inch too short. I haven't worn shorts to school ever since. Ms. Mott if you're seeing this please do something about this, it puts a gigantic amount of pressure and stress on us girls. I am sure it is a statewide policy but it is not enforced as much at schools like Mendenall. My younger sister goes there and she can wear shorts there that I could never even think of wearing. Also I feel there is a bit of sexism in the school. The teachers often ask boys if they would like to help lift things, and during a ceremony had boy scouts do the flags. I assure you Ms. Mott, me being a girl scout myself, I have performed a flag ceremony before and had no problem in doing so.
