Benson Elementary School

Benson Middle School is failing our kids. It ranks in the bottom 50% of NC schools, with Math proficiency at a dismal 33% and Reading at 41%—both far below state averages. As a low-income, under-resourced school, the expectations here are incredibly low. The daily environment is unsupportive, and there is a noticeable lack of respect from teachers toward the students.Worst of all, school leadership cares more about sports than academic success. While athletics thrive, core classes and electives suffer from high staff turnover and administrative neglect. If you want a school that values academic integrity and treats your child with respect, look elsewhere in Johnston County.
