Elysian School

My experience was not good. I agree that the principal is good with the students which she seemed to be; however, she is not good with her staff especially substitute teachers. She lets the kids run the school. I saw a teacher discipline one of her students for throwing stuff. I next saw the principal go over to the teacher and tell her that it wasn't alright for her to discipline the student for throwing stuff. "Kids will be kids"

I absolutely love this school. My dad went to this school I went to this school and now my kids are going to this school. They have always been very helpful and cooperative. This school has always been welcoming. Both of my kids have some slight learning difficulties and they are willing to work with them and take the time to support encourage and help teach them.

I have had a child at this school since 2008. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with teachers, staff and the principal. Is it perfect? Of course not. Yet I have always been encouraged to be active in my children's classrooms and set up conferences when needed. Any questions or concerns I have had are always addressed by the principal, teacher or staff member in a professional, honest and respectful manner.

The current principal is a former counselor and has a great grasp on what the kids need. He’s very supportive and listens to the students and holds them responsible for their actions. The 5 Houses, 1 School Family (think Hogwarts) has encouraged positive competition and improved performance within the student body. Smaller class sizes have been wonderful, too. The teachers and staff really care for the students and want the best for them.

Great school. The teachers and principle are amazing, they are very helpful and considerate. They also have great programs that get everyone involved all year round. Overall the best school in my opinion. Don’t be put off by the neighborhood this is the southeast side of town and not like the south side used to be!

people helping in the time of need when a family needs help

The teachers are nice and caring but others are not so friendly. I had a librarian who would yell at me and my sister…when she was in kindergarten!! The expected behavior in my classes were good and easy to follow. In my classes I would only get homework if I didn’t finish it in class, but since I would talk quite a bit I got a lot of homework. This school is not very good at dealing with bullying because my sister was being bullied and her teacher didn’t even notice, or care. My parents talked to the principal about it but he was unreachable. In short I loved big sky, but there are some things that the teachers don’t do correctly.
