I am very pleased with Principal Dillon, Mrs. Gaye Atkinson and Ms. Shantel. My daughter is in 1st grade at Otken Elementary in McComb, MS, and everyone has worked together and diligently to consistently push the education of my child. I see continued improvement in her reading and math skills. And she is excited on a daily basis to go to school. The physical education is exceptional as well at teaching healthy habits. Education, administration, and staff are top-notch.

This school is extremely cliquish and who you know. As the other reviews justly point out, where do you go to church? Exactly. If you're looking for the racism/sexism/anti-lgbtqia atmosphere of a private academy with the cost of a public school, this school is for you. They absolutely love new Karens to join the clique. Just don't worry about all the rumors they'll start and which one comes after your husband, that's included with property taxes. If they get a good teacher, they wear them out quickly. On the plus side, there's only been a handful of predators employed here over the last 50 years. Most of them were allowed to marry their students to ward off scandal.
