Read what parents are saying about Parkway Central Middle SchoolI'm a current student here (8th grade) and i transferred last year from a different school. It's not a bad school in terms of learning and accommodating kid's learning styles, but when it comes to bullying or bad behavior i feel like most of it is overlooked unless it's physical. I am personally a victim of this because I'm lesbian, and i have other friends on the LGBTQ+ spectrum that get bullied as well. However, there is little to no racism in the classes, at least to my experience. The community is very diverse and welcoming of people of any skin color. Also, certain teachers care more about your attendance and grades than your actual health (mental or physical), and won't lay off if you do one thing wrong, like getting your work done slowly. It's usually those same teachers that overwhelm students with work and have them staying up late with homework and making them tired, then blaming them for not doing their work quick enough. The schedule is based on Even and Odd days, and you only have 4 classes each day except for Wednesday when you have all 8. Lunches aren't the best but they also aren't terrible. That's all i can think of for now but i'm sure there's more problems

Posted by a community member on 2/15/2017Excellent Teacher Parent communication. Great Facility and campus. The Staff cares about their Students and go the extra distance to insure comprehension and application. Teachers are extremely patient and creative, their assistants are very much engaged and capable.

Posted by a parent on 1/28/2015I am a current student at PCMS and let me just say.... I hate it. It's not just the tons of homework that I'm mad about, there are other things like. At the school there are two popular groups. The Girl Clique and The Boy Clique The Boy Clique are just mainly annoying and stupid The Girl Clique is just messed up on so many levels. The teachers think they're angels but they're not! They also verbal bully other kids. They're rich girls who are not only mean but also a bit racist. I know this because my best friend was a victim. Also the teachers... Honestly I feel like they don't understand me. I can't talk to them that easy. I can't trust them as well. Some teachers are nice I agree, but others are just unfair at times. The lunch is terrible too. They may serve Chik-Fil-A on Thursdays but that isn't enough to convince me. So 1/10 I give this school a 1! If you want a quality school to go to. Go somewhere else!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's been four years since my family left this school, and we still suffer from what I can only describe as PTSD. There are many good Christian schools around - but not this one! Bullying, unfair treatment, incompetent leadership, misdiagnoses, and more. Run run run away.Parent Review1y ago - Chesterfield Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you're here because you're curious about if Montessori is right for your child, this is your sign that CMS is a school you should very seriously consider. I was a student here back in the early 00s, from 1st-6th grade, and I can honestly say that CMS was the catalyst for a lifetime of joy of learning. Many of my most cherished memories come from my time at CMS: learning long division with the "racks and tubes" in lower elementary; tracing the chronology of our history on the timeline of life; presenting a research project on stars in upper elementary. At CMS, I learned more than just math facts and how to write an essay--I learned how to be responsible for my own learning and how to nurture meaningful relationships with my teachers and peers. I have now returned to the CMS community as an adult and have found that the school's commitment to its students and to the Montessori approach has not wavered. CMS is the real deal - the Montessori education is authentic and empowering, and the staff care a tremendous amount about the students and the school's mission. If it's not already, CMS should be on your short list of great options for your child.Other Review2y ago - Countryside Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRossman has provided our family with the best educational, social, and developmental environment we could imagine for our child. The speed at which he has learned new concepts, his ability to think critically and problem solve, his interest in various cultures and topics, and perhaps most importantly - his self confidence - has been taken to a level far beyond his peers at other schools. Teachers are invested and actually seem to enjoy their jobs. The other children are the type of kind, considerate kids with whom we want our child to become friends, and their families are equally as wonderful. We are confident that in choosing Rossman, we are giving our son the best possible educational and developmental foundation.Parent Review1mo ago - Chesterfield Day School
