Barnwell Middle School

My child attended K through half of 5th grade. I had to pull her from this school because the principal, her teacher, and other staff did not protect my child from harassment and bullying. In stead, they kept the children in the same classrooms, cafeteria tables, and refused to monitor activity on the playground. My child numerous times would come to faculty for help but she would be turned away. The principal did nothing to mitigate any ongoing issues. It lasted for five months before I had to reluctantly pull her from this school. Our experiences K through 4th were largely positive. The newer staff here are largely cold, callous, and heartless. Lacking empathy, patience, or emotional awareness of any kind.

Unfortunately special needs students fall through the cracks at this school. Constantly have uncertified and untrained paras with SPED students. Students are not getting the intervention help they so desperately need because interventionists are pulled to other locations causing students to fall further behind yet administrators will lie to your face about it.

I have two students with learning differences. Every year the teachers reach out ask me hiw they can best support my child. The special education teachers pegged my child's interest and personality in the first week of being there and went above and beyond to get tools that would make learning more exciting to help them learn. Both my children have come so far in the past 2 years since being here. I cant say enough good things.

We have five children and in our family we have experienced every grade level at WCA from the 3s class up to 8th grade. We love the small classes, Abeka curriculum, weekly chapel, uniforms, and caring teaches. We are so blessed to have this school so close to home.
