It is not a good school they don't stop bullies they cover it upPosted by a community member on 5/29/2018
Very good and impressive, the teachers are amazing and go above and beyond to help the students and communicate with parents. I just wish parents were more involved and the school received more fundingPosted by a parent on 2/25/2018
The administration staff members and teachers are greatPosted by a parent on 11/30/2017
My son is currently attending Marion, as did I 30 years prior. The Teachers and administrative staff go above and beyond to ensure all of the students are obtaining a well rounded education. As far as, the previous reviews, bullying is a zero tolerance policy at Marion. Teachers are well equipped with smaller class sizes, anti bulling campaigns and big hearts to correct any misconduct. Parents have to be aware and involved in their children's lives to guide them.Posted by a parent on 4/13/2017
The principal at Marion knows there's a bully in the school and they can't do anything about this child it is very sad that this school went from what it used to be to what it is now I would not recommend this school to any parent if they want their child to learn.Posted by a community member on 11/30/2016

- Spoede Elementary School
7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo be honest, I have been disappointed with Spoede. Some teachers are excellent, but some are not. I am not surprised to know that 19% of the teachers there have less than 3 years of experience. Those less-experienced teachers just do not know how to deal with young kids. I also agree with the other reviewer that some teachers there are overworked and unhappy. There seems to be too much turnover in the staff.Parent Review2y ago

- Bridgeway Elementary School
7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had 3 children go through Bridgeway and I currently have one more there. Bridgeway was a great foundation for my children and their learning. All 3 of the children not there any more are at a 3.8 or higher GPA and they are in all challenge classes or AP classes at the high school. Bridgeway teachers go above and beyond to help their students.Parent Review3y ago

- Jackson Park Elementary School
3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJackson Park Elementary is a place where people put their heart into everything they do. My son will be in 1st grade this fall. His year of kindergarten was fantastic. He truly enjoyed his time and did well. I mean, he learned how to read! His teacher, Mrs. Rice, was amazing -- smart, funny, in-control, empathetic -- so I have high hopes for his second year at JP. I wish PE was offered every day; young kids NEED to burn off energy! I also wish events at the school had better organization and arrangements (seating, audio quality, signs). It is a shame that U City's incredibly diverse population does not reflect in its schools. Because of the lack of support residents have for this district, the schools' reputations suffer. This has been the trend though, where families choose to pay for private schools rather than back public ones or even move out of the district altogether. Take it from someone who considered the other options. But I'm glad I didn't give into the fearmongering. There are no fights, there are no screaming matches between kids and teachers, there is no bullying or dangers we've experienced. JP is a school that is just as excellent as any other.Parent Review4y ago
